Abstract

A pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape includes a fabric. The fabric includes a weave of fibers, where the fibers include an elastic fiber covered by a covering material. The fabric also includes a first end and a second end, where the second end is opposite the first end. The fabric further includes one or more rounded corners. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape also includes a longitudinal cut in the fabric. The longitudinal cut passes through at least a portion of the fabric and extends from the first end to a pre-determined distance from the second end. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape also includes adhesive on a first surface of the fabric, where the adhesive is configured to adhere the fabric to a human body.

adhesive on a first surface of the fabric, the adhesive configured to adhere the fabric to a human body, the adhesive applied in a step frequency wave pattern including a plurality of steps along a longitudinal length of the fabric, the step frequency wave pattern including a series of adhesive lines and gaps, the step frequency wave pattern comprising a modified sine wave pattern with modified peaks relative to a baseline sine wave, the modified peaks including upper peaks with a higher amplitude and a sharper peak than the baseline sine wave, the modified peaks including lower peaks with a higher amplitude and a sharper peak than the baseline sine wave; and

a backing material on the first surface of the fabric, the backing material configured to cover the adhesive and protect the adhesive from drying until a user is ready to apply the fabric to the human body;

wherein, when applied to a user, the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape is not intended to fix in place or prevent movement of the user.

2. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a first perforation in the backing material to facilitate tearing of the backing material to allow a portion of the backing material to be removed from the kinesiology tape while another portion of the backing material remains.

3. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 2 , wherein removing the portion of the backing material facilitates placement of the kinesiology tape by allowing a user to only work with desired portions of the kinesiology tape.

4. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 2 , further comprising a second perforation in the backing material.

5. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a logo to identify an end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape and to aid the user in placing the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape, the logo visually identifying a first end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape, the first end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape intended to be first applied to a user and then a second end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape is intended to be applied to the user.

6. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 5 , wherein the logo includes reflective dye.

7. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , wherein the weave of fibers comprises a first set of fibers orientated in a first direction and a second set of fibers orientated in a second direction; and

wherein the second set of fibers includes an elastic fiber and a covering material covering the elastic fiber.

8. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a longitudinal cut disposed in the fabric, the longitudinal cut extending a pre-determined distance.

9. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , wherein the weave of fibers comprises an elastic fiber covered by a covering material.

10. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising:

a longitudinal cut extending through at least a portion of the fabric, the longitudinal cut extending from a first end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape towards a second end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape;

a first rounded corner of the fabric extending from the first end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape to the longitudinal cut; and

a second rounded corner of the fabric extending from the first end of the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape to the longitudinal cut.

11. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a set of pre-cut strips of kinesiology tape, the set of pre-cut strips of kinesiology tape including two or more pre-cut strips of kinesiology tape.

12. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , wherein the fibers comprise artificial fibers.

13. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a longitudinal cut that is sized and configured to allow a user to split a portion of the kinesiology tape when applying the kinesiology tape to a user, the longitudinal cut passing completely through the kinesiology tape.

14. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a longitudinal cut that is sized and configured to allow a user to split a portion of the kinesiology tape when applying the kinesiology tape to a user, the longitudinal cut passing through only a portion of the kinesiology tape to prevent unintentional separation along the longitudinal cut.

15. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of longitudinal cuts, each longitudinal cut of the plurality of cuts sized and configured to allow a user to split a portion of the kinesiology tape when applying the kinesiology tape to a user.

16. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a longitudinal cut disposed in the fabric, the longitudinal cut passing through a portion of the fabric, the longitudinal cut not severing the backing material.

17. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a first perforation that perforates a first portion of the backing material, the first perforation sized and configured to facilitate tearing of the backing material along the first perforation.

18. The pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape as in claim 1 , further comprising a first perforation cut across a width of the backing material.

19. A pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape which a user need not cut before using the kinesiology tape, the pre-cut strip of kinesiology tape comprising:
