Abstract

A method and system for converging a 5th-generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT) are provided. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The method for transmitting and receiving a phase compensation reference signal (PCRS) to compensate for phase noise. The method may determine whether a first precoding is applied to a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) and the PCRS to be transmitted to a terminal. The base station may also generate the DMRS and the PCRS, based on whether the first precoding is applied to the DMRS and the PCRS, and transmit data, the DMRS, and the PCRS to the terminal.

Claims (48)

1. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving, from a base station, downlink control information (DCI) including information indicating an association between at least one demodulation reference signal (DMRS) antenna port and at least one phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) antenna port;

identifying a number of a-PTRS antenna port associated with uplink based on the DCI;

identifying a DMRS antenna port associated with uplink based on the DCI;

transmitting, to the base station, a DMRS and a PTRS based on the DMRS antenna port associated with uplink and the PTRS antenna port associated with uplink.

2. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the DCI schedules a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission, and

wherein the DMRS and the PTRS are transmitted for the PUSCH.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein, in case that a same PTRS antenna port is configured for the at least one DMRS antenna port, the same PTRS antenna port is identified as the PTRS antenna port associated with the uplink.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein a same precoding matrix is applied to the PTRS and the DMRS.

5. A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting, to a terminal, downlink control information (DCI) including information indicating an association between at least one demodulation reference signal (DMRS) antenna port and at least one phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) antenna port; and

receiving, from the terminal, a DMRS and a PTRS based on a DMRS antenna port associated with uplink and a PTRS antenna port associated with uplink,

wherein a number of PTRS antenna port associated with uplink is identified based on the DCI,

wherein the DMRS antenna port associated with uplink is identified based on the DCI, and

wherein the PTRS antenna port associated with uplink is identified based on the DCI and the number of PTRS antenna port.

6. The method of claim 5 ,

wherein the DCI schedules a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission, and

wherein the DMRS and the PTRS are received for the PUSCH.

7. The method of claim 5 , wherein, in case that a same PTRS antenna port is configured for the at least one DMRS antenna port, the same PTRS antenna port is identified as the PTRS antenna port associated with the uplink.
