Abstract

A display device includes a bank including an opening exposing a surface of a base. The bank further includes side surfaces adjacent to an upper surface. The side surfaces slope downward from the upper surface toward an opening in an organic film pattern. A plurality of fine holes are formed on the upper surface and the side surfaces, the bank may also include a plurality of inner holes.

Claims (34)

1. A display device, comprising:

a base;

a bank on the base and including an opening exposing a surface of the base; and

an organic film pattern in the opening on the base, wherein the bank includes side surfaces adjacent to an upper surface, the side surfaces sloping downward from the upper surface toward the opening, and wherein the bank includes a plurality of fine holes on the upper surface and the side surfaces and a plurality of inner holes in the bank,

wherein the plurality of fine holes are spaced from each other, and

wherein at least some of the fine holes from among the plurality of fine holes have a smaller diameter at an entrance thereof than a maximum diameter thereof, and at least some others of the fine holes from among the plurality of fine holes have a diameter at the entrance thereof that is equal to the maximum diameter thereof.

2. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a cross-section of at least one of the fine holes includes a portion of a circular shape.

3. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a surface of the bank has a repellant property.

4. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the bank includes a plurality of inorganic particles having inner holes.

5. The display device as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the inorganic particles include at least one of silica (SiO 2 ), alumina (Al 2 O 3 ), and zinc oxide (ZnO).

6. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a surface of the bank includes a fluoro group.

7. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising:

a plurality of pixels,

wherein the base includes a substrate and a first electrode in each of the pixels on the substrate, wherein the bank is a pixel defining layer for the pixels, and wherein the opening of the bank exposes at least a portion of the first electrode in each of the pixels.

8. The display device as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the organic film pattern includes an organic light emitting material.

9. The display device as claimed in claim 7 , further comprising:

a second electrode on the organic film pattern.

10. A pixel, comprising:

a first layer; and

a second layer on the first layer,

wherein the second layer includes an opening and a first surface adjacent to the opening, the first surface including a plurality of holes and material including a fluoro group element,

wherein the plurality of holes are spaced from each other, and

wherein at least some of the holes from among the plurality of holes have a smaller diameter at an entrance thereof than a maximum diameter thereof, and at least some others of the holes from among the plurality of holes have a diameter at the entrance thereof that is equal to the maximum diameter thereof.

11. The pixel as claimed in claim 10 , wherein:

the first surface has recessed surfaces corresponding to the holes, and

the recessed surfaces include the fluoro group element.

12. The pixel as claimed in claim 10 , wherein:

the second layer includes a second surface adjacent the first surface, and

the second surface at an angle relative to the first surface and including a portion of the holes.

13. The pixel as claimed in claim 10 , wherein:

the second layer is a pixel defining layer, and

the opening in the second layer is to emit light.

14. The pixel as claimed in claim 10 , further comprising:

an organic film pattern on the first layer and in the opening.
