Method of regulating tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) for treating cancers, autoimmune disorders, and other disorders associated with chronic inflammation
In one aspect, a method of treating a disorder associated with chronic inflammation includes administering to an individual in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. In some aspects, the disorder is a cancer, an autoimmune disorder, hypertension, or autism. In other aspects, isomyosmine is administered to treat viral infections or disorders associated with elevated levels of hydrogen peroxide and/or other Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS).

A method of regulating tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) for treating a disorder associated with chronic inflammation comprising administering to an individual in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition containing a therapeutically effective amount of isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle therefor.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the disorder is a cancer.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the disorder is an autoimmune disorder.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the disorder is selected from the group consisting of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Down's syndrome, and autism.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the disorder is hypertension or high blood pressure.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the therapeutically effective amount is from about 0.01 to about 50 mg/kg/day.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the therapeutically effective amount is from about 0.1 to about 25 mg/kg/day.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is isomyosmine hydrochloride.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the disorder is metabolic syndrome.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the chronic inflammation comprises a gastrointestinal disorder.
11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the gastrointestinal disorder is Crohn's disease.
12. A method of inhibiting tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in an individual suffering from an autoimmune disorder comprising administering to the individual a pharmaceutical composition containing a therapeutically effective amount of isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle therefor.

The method of claim 12 , wherein the autoimmune disorder is selected from the group consisting of scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, polymyositis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Addison's disease, pemphigus vulgaris, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), allergy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome (APS), arthritis, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, autoimmune hepatitis, autoimmune inner ear disease, autoimmune pancreatitis, bullous pemphigoid, celiac disease, Chagas disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), endometriosis, fibromyalgia, Goodpasture's syndrome, Graves' disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), hidradenitis suppurativa, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, inflammatory bowel disease, interstitial cystitis, discoid lupus erythematosus, drug-induced lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis, neonatal lupus, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, systemic lupus erythematosus, morphea, myasthenia gravis, myopathies, narcolepsy, neuromyotonia, pemphigus vulgaris, pernicious anemia, primary biliary cirrhosis, recurrent disseminated encephalomyelitis, rheumatic fever, schizophrenia, scleroderma, Sjogren's syndrome, tenosynovitis, vasculitis, and vitiligo.
14. The method of claim 12 , wherein the therapeutically effective amount is from about 0.01 to about 50 mg/kg/day.
15. The method of claim 12 , wherein the therapeutically effective amount is from about 0.1 to about 25 mg/kg/day.
16. The method of claim 12 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is isomyosmine hydrochloride.
17. A method of modulating an anti-inflammatory counteractive response characterized by release of cytokines in an individual suffering from an inflammatory disorder, the method comprising administering to the individual a pharmaceutical composition containing a therapeutically effective amount of isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle therefor.
18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the inflammatory disorder is a Th1-mediated inflammatory disorder that is virally, bacterially, or chemically induced, and wherein the anti-inflammatory counteractive response is characterized by release of Th-2-type cytokines.
19. The method of claim 18 , wherein a virus causing the Th1-mediated inflammatory disorder causes a respiratory disorder.
