Abstract

A mold assembly including at least three pieces that are joined together by a seal. Once joined together, the mold assembly defines an interior cavity defining a shape for a baked comestible product. A comestible substance is injected into the interior cavity through an opening in the mold assembly that is either defined by one of the three pieces or by an opening in the seal between two or more of the three pieces. After baking, the pieces of the mold can be peeled away from the comestible product by breaking the seal.

Claims (29)

1. An apparatus for baking a comestible product, the apparatus comprising:

a mold assembly comprising at least three pieces, wherein each of the at least three pieces is configured to be joined by a seal to two of the other at least three pieces such that when each of the at least three pieces are joined to two of the remaining at least three pieces they form the mold assembly,

wherein the mold assembly consists of a flexible material that is suitable for baking,

wherein the mold assembly defines an interior cavity for receiving a substance to be baked into a comestible product, the interior cavity defining a shape for the baked comestible product, and

wherein one or more of the at least three pieces can be peeled away from the comestible product after baking at the seal.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mold assembly defines an aperture configured for receiving a substance into the interior cavity of the mold assembly and for allowing egress of the substance during baking expansion.

3. The apparatus of claim 2 , further comprising a stopper element configured to be placed into the aperture.

4. The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the aperture is defined by one of the at least three pieces.

5. The apparatus of claim 4 , further comprising a stopper element configured to be placed into the aperture.

6. The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the aperture is defined by at least two of the at least three pieces.

7. The apparatus of claim 6 , further comprising a stopper element configured to be placed into the aperture.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a portion of the seal between an at least first piece and an at least second piece of the at least three pieces can be separated or remain separated to create an opening for receiving a substance into the interior cavity.

9. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mold assembly has at least one vent for heat release.

10. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the seal prevents substance egression.

11. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mold assembly hangs from a surface.

12. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the seal comprises a first sealing element on a first piece and a second sealing element on a second piece and wherein at least a portion of the first sealing element and at least a portion of the second sealing element are configured to be held to each other.

13. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the seal on each of the at least three pieces includes at least a first sealing element and a second sealing element, wherein the first sealing element on a first piece adheres with the second sealing element on a second piece.

14. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the mold assembly is configured to fit within a cup of a baking cup pan.

15. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the at least three pieces is configured to be attached to a base.

16. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the mold assembly is substantially shaped like a frustum.

17. A method of baking a comestible product of a particular shape, the method comprising the actions of:

assembling at least three pieces to form a mold assembly, wherein each of the at least three pieces are joined to two of the other at least three pieces by a seal to form the mold assembly, wherein the mold assembly consists of a flexible material that is suitable for baking;

injecting a substance into an interior cavity defined by the mold assembly, wherein the interior cavity defines a shape for the baked comestible product;

placing the mold assembly with injected substance into an oven for a period of time;

removing the mold assembly with injected substance after the period of time; and

peeling one or more of the at least three pieces away from the comestible product after baking at the seal.

18. The method of claim 17 , further comprising the actions of opening or leaving open a portion of the seal between at least two of the at least three pieces to create the opening for receiving the substance into the interior cavity of the mold assembly.

19. The method of claim 17 , wherein the mold assembly defines an aperture configured for receiving the substance into the interior cavity of the mold and the action of injecting a substance in an interior cavity comprises injecting the substance through the aperture.

20. The method of claim 17 , wherein at least two of the at least three pieces of the mold assembly defines an aperture configured for receiving the substance into the interior cavity of the mold and the action of injecting a substance into an interior cavity comprises injecting the substance through the aperture.
