Developing cartridge having coupling and developing roller
In a cartridge, a housing has a developer accommodating portion and includes a first side wall and a second side wall. A coupling member is disposed at a position opposite to the developer accommodating portion with respect to the first side wall. A detection body is disposed at a position opposite to the developer accommodating portion with respect to the second side wall. A first driving force transmission member is positioned at the same side with the coupling member with respect to the first side wall, and transmits driving force from the coupling member to a rotating member. A second driving force transmission member is positioned at the same side with the detection body with respect to the second side wall, and transmits driving force from the rotating member to the detection body.
1. A cartridge comprising:
a housing configured to accommodate developing material therein, the housing having first end and a second end separated from the first end in a first direction;
a coupling rotatable about a first axis extending in the first direction and configured to receive an external rotating driving force, the coupling being positioned at the first end of the housing;
a developing roller mounted in the housing so that a portion of the developing roller is exposed outside of the housing, the developing roller including a first shaft extending from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing, wherein the first shaft is rotatable about a second axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis;
a first gear attached to the first shaft at the first end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the first shaft, wherein the first gear is configured to rotate in response to rotation of the coupling to rotate the first shaft and the developing roller;
a second shaft extending from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing, wherein the second shaft is rotatable about a third axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis and the second axis;
a second gear attached to the second shaft at the first end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the second shaft, wherein the second gear is configured to rotate in response to rotation of the coupling to rotate the second shaft;
a third gear attached to the second shaft at the second end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the second shaft such that the third gear is rotatable with second shaft; and
a detector actuator cylinder rotatably positioned at the second end of the housing and rotatable about a fourth axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis, the second axis and the third axis, wherein the detector is configured to rotate in response to rotation of the third gear.
2. The cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the coupling includes a coupling gear configured to rotate with the coupling, the coupling gear configured to engage the first gear to rotate the first gear in response to rotation of the coupling.
3. The cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the third gear is configured to engage the detector actuator cylinder to rotate a new product detector in response to rotation of the third gear.
4. The cartridge of claim 3 , wherein the detector actuator cylinder has a circumference including a first portion that defines a plurality of gear teeth and a second portion that does not define gear teeth, and wherein the third gear includes gear teeth configured to engage the gear teeth of the first portion.
5. The cartridge of claim 1 , further comprising an agitator blade connected to the second shaft so as to rotate therewith, wherein the agitator blade is configured to stir developing material received in the housing.
6. A cartridge comprising:
a housing configured to accommodate developing material therein, the housing having first end and a second end separated from the first end in a first direction;
a coupling rotatable about a first axis extending in the first direction and configured to receive an external rotating driving force, the coupling being positioned at the first end of the housing;
a developing roller mounted in the housing so that a portion of the developing roller is exposed outside of the housing, the developing roller including a first shaft extending from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing, wherein the first shaft is rotatable about a second axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis;
a first gear attached to the first shaft at the first end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the first shaft, the first gear configured to rotate in response to rotation of the coupling to rotate the first shaft and the developing roller;
a detector actuator cylinder positioned at the second end of the housing and rotatable about a third axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis and the second axis, where the detector actuator cylinder is configured to rotate in response to rotation of the coupling.
7. The cartridge of claim 6 , further comprising:
a coupling gear configured to rotate with the coupling, the coupling gear configured to engage the first gear to rotate the first gear in response to rotation of the coupling;
a second shaft extending from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing;
a second gear attached to the second shaft at the first end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the second shaft;
an idle gear configured to engage the coupling gear and the second gear to rotate the second gear in response to rotation of the coupling;
a third gear attached to the second shaft at the second end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the second shaft such that the third gear is rotatable with second shaft; and
an agitator blade connected to the second shaft so as to rotate therewith, wherein the agitator blade is configured to stir developing material received in the housing.
8. A cartridge comprising:
a housing configured to accommodate developing material therein, the housing having first end and a second end separated from the first end in a first direction;
a coupling rotatable about a first axis extending in the first direction and configured to receive an external rotating driving force, the coupling being positioned at the first end of the housing;
a developing roller mounted in the housing so that a portion of the developing roller is exposed outside of the housing, the developing roller including a first shaft extending from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing, wherein the first shaft is rotatable about a second axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis;
a first gear attached to the first shaft at the first end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the first shaft, wherein the first gear is configured to rotate in response to rotation of the coupling to rotate the first shaft and the developing roller;
a second shaft extending from the first end of the housing to the second end of the housing, wherein the second shaft is rotatable about a third axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis and the second axis;
a second gear attached to the second shaft at the first end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the second shaft, wherein the second gear is configured to rotate in response to rotation of the coupling to rotate the second shaft; and
a detector actuator positioned at the second end of the housing and rotatable about a fourth axis extending in the first direction and spaced apart from the first axis, the second axis and the third axis, wherein the detector is rotatable in response to rotation of the second shaft to drive a new product detector.
9. The cartridge of claim 8 , further comprising:
a coupling gear configured to rotate with the coupling, the coupling gear configured to engage the first gear to rotate the first gear in response to rotation of the coupling;
a third gear attached to the second shaft at the second end of the housing so as not to be rotatable relative to the second shaft such that the third gear is rotatable with second shaft; and
wherein the detector actuator is rotatable in response to rotation of the third gear.
10. The cartridge of claim 9 , further comprising an agitator blade connected to the second shaft so as to rotate therewith, wherein the agitator blade is configured to stir developing material received in the housing.
11. The cartridge of claim 9 , further comprising an idle gear configured to engage the coupling gear and the second gear to rotate the second gear in response to rotation of the coupling.
12. The cartridge of claim 9 , wherein the detector actuator includes a cylinder having a circumference that defines a first plurality of gear teeth, wherein the third gear has a circumference that defines a second plurality of gear teeth configured to engage the first plurality of gear teeth.
13. The cartridge of claim 12 , wherein the circumference of the cylinder has a first portion that defines the first plurality of the gear teeth, and a second portion that does not define gear teeth.
