Abstract

Systems and methods for providing a separate interest rate for an individual transaction are disclosed. A system may provide a service associated with a account having an account balance and an associated first interest rate. The system may include a service device having one or memory devices storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform a separate interest rate service process. The process may include providing a separate interest rate service offer to a client device and receiving a separate interest rate selection from the client device. The process may also include determining a selected portion of the account balance corresponding to an amount to which a second interest rate, different from the first interest rate, is to be applied based on the separate interest rate selection.

Claims (53)

1. A system, comprising:

one or more memory devices storing instructions; and

one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:

maintaining a financial account associated with a user, the account having a first balance at a first interest rate;

determining that the user is eligible for an offer to provide a financial service at a second interest rate;

receiving information indicating that the user is in a process of completing a first online transaction occurring at a client device associated with the user;

providing to the client device a notification for display in a user interface in the client device, the notification indicating that the offer is available for application to the first online transaction;

receiving, from the client device, an indication of acceptance of the offer;

receiving, from the client device, a selection by the user of one of a plurality of second transactions at the first interest rate associated with the first balance; and

applying the second interest rate to the first online transaction and the selected second transaction.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the notification comprises a term of the offer.

3. The system of claim 2 , the term comprises a period of time that the second interest rate is applicable.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the notification comprises acceptance information for the user to accept the offer.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise determining an amount associated with the first online transaction and the selected second transaction.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

maintaining a second balance associated with the second interest rate; and

updating the first balance.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the operations further comprise determining an interest amount for the second balance.

8. The system of claim 6 , wherein the operations further comprise determining a total interest amount associated with the first and second balances.

9. The system of claim 6 , the operations further comprise:

receiving a payment from the user to apply to the financial account, an amount of the payment being less than a total of the first and second balances; and

allocating at least portion of the payment to the first balance.

10. The system of claim 1 , the operations further comprise:

determining that the financial service expires in a specified period of time; and

transmitting a notification to the user indicating that the financial service expires in the specified period of time.

11. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

maintaining a financial account associated with a user, the account having a first balance at a first interest rate;

receiving information indicating that a user is in a process of completing a first online transaction occurring at a client device associated with the user;

providing to the client device a notification for display in a user interface in the client device, the notification indicating that the offer is available for application to the first online transaction;

receiving, from the client device, an indication of acceptance of the offer;

receiving, from the client device, a selection by the user of one of a plurality of second transactions associated with the first balance; and

applying the second interest rate to the online transaction and the selected second transaction.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the notification comprises a term of the offer.

13. The method of claim 12 , the term comprises a specified period of time that the second interest rate is applicable.

14. The method of claim 11 , further comprises:

determining whether the user is eligible for the offer; and

providing the notification to the client device if the user is eligible for the offer.

15. The method of claim 11 , further comprises determining an amount associated with the online transaction and the selected second transaction.

16. The method of claim 11 , the operations further comprise:

maintaining a second balance associated with the second interest rate; and

updating the first balance.

17. The method of claim 16 , further comprises determining an interest amount for the second balance.

18. The method of claim 16 , further comprises determining a total interest amount associated with the first and second balances.

19. The method of claim 16 , the operations further comprise:

receiving a payment from the user to apply to the account, an amount of the payment being less than a total of the first and second balances; and

allocating at least portion of the payment to the first balance.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, are configured to cause a system to perform operations comprising:

maintaining a financial account associated with a user, the account having a balance at a first interest rate;

receiving information indicating that the user is in a process of completing a first online transaction occurring at a client device associated with the user;

providing to the client device a notification for display in a user interface in the client device, the notification indicating that an offer to provide a financial service at a second interest rate is available for application to the first online transaction;

receiving, from the client device, an indication of acceptance of the offer;

receiving, from the client device, a selection by the user of one of a plurality of second transactions associated with the balance; and

applying the second interest rate to the first online transaction and the selected second transaction.
