Abstract

The invention refers to a method for a communication device in a radio network, which comprises a step of performing a first transmitting, in a first time slot of a first duration, comprising transmitting a Buffer Status Report, BSR, for a plurality of logical channels, and a step of performing a second transmitting, in a second time slot of a second duration, comprising transmitting a Scheduling Request, SR, for at least a first part of the plurality of logical channels; the invention further refers to corresponding communication devices, to a computer-readable storage, to a computer program and to a carrier.

performing a second transmitting in a second time slot of a second duration different than the first duration, the second transmitting comprising transmitting a Scheduling Request (SR) for at least one of the plurality of logical channels;

wherein the at least one logical channel has a higher priority than one other logical channel of the plurality of logical channels.

2. The method of claim 1 :

wherein the first transmitting is performed in a first portion of a frequency band; and

wherein the second transmitting is performed in a second portion of the frequency band.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

determining that a first logical channel of the plurality of logical channels has a higher priority than a second logical channel of the plurality of logical channels;

performing the first transmitting by transmitting the BSR including the buffer size of a payload for the first logical channel together with a payload data of the second logical channel in the first time slot, and

transmitting the SR for the first logical channel in the second time slot.

4. The method of claim 3 :

further comprising, after performing the first transmitting and after performing the second transmitting, starting a timer; and

wherein further sending of a BSR, a SR, or both, for the first logical channel is prohibited while the timer is running.

5. The method of claim 3 , further comprising:

further comprising, after performing the first transmitting and after repetitively performing the second transmitting for a preconfigured number of times, starting a timer; and

wherein further sending of a BSR, a SR, or both, for the first logical channel is prohibited while the timer is running.

6. The method of claim 3 , further comprising:

receiving an uplink grant; and

sending the payload of the first logical channel in the second portion of the frequency band with time slots having the second duration.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the uplink grant is indicative of a PUSCH transmission resource.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving an uplink grant message comprising the first duration for transmitting the BSR;

in response to receiving the uplink grant message for transmitting the BSR, transmitting the BSR based on priorities of the plurality of logical channels if a corresponding required slot duration matches the first duration comprised in the uplink grant message;

in response to receiving an uplink grant message for transmitting the SR, transmitting the SR based on priorities of the at least one logical channel if a corresponding required time slot duration matches a time slot duration comprised in the uplink grant message.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second duration is shorter than the first duration.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the second duration is 0.25 millisecond and the first duration is 1 millisecond.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second transmitting comprises transmitting, in one or more additional time slots of the second duration, one or more SRs for one or more logical channels in the plurality of logical channels.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising setting a timer of a duration during which further sending of a BSR or a SR for the one or more logical channels is prohibited after the second transmitting has finished.

13. The method of claim 1 :

wherein the radio network is a New Radio (NR) network in which the communication device operates in time slots of the first duration in a first portion of a band and also operates in time slots of the second duration in a second portion of the band; and

wherein the first portion and the second portion are different.

14. The method of claim 1 :

wherein the radio network is a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in which the communication device operates in time slots of the first duration in a first portion of a band and also operates in time slots of the second duration in a second portion of the band; and

wherein the first portion and the second portion are different.

15. The method of claim 1 , further comprising preconfiguring a list of the one or more logical channels in the plurality of logical channels via radio resource control (RRC) signaling.

16. A communication device in a radio network, the communication device comprising:

processing circuitry;

memory containing instructions executable by the processing circuitry whereby the communication device is operative to:

perform a first transmitting in a first time slot of a first duration, the first transmitting comprising transmitting a Buffer Status Report (BSR) for a plurality of logical channels; and

perform a second transmitting in a second time slot of a second duration different than the first duration, the second transmitting comprising transmitting a Scheduling Request (SR) for at least one of the plurality of logical channels;

wherein the at least one logical channel has a higher priority than one other logical channel of the plurality of logical channels.

17. The device of claim 16 , wherein the instructions are such that the communication device is operative to:

receive an uplink grant message comprising a slot duration for transmitting the first BSR or a second BSR;

in response to receiving the uplink grant message for transmitting the first BSR, transmit the first BSR based on priorities for the plurality of logical channels if a corresponding required slot duration matches the slot duration comprised in the uplink grant message;

in response to receiving the uplink grant message for transmitting the second BSR, transmit the SR based on priorities of the at least one logical channel if a corresponding required slot duration matches the slot duration comprised in the uplink grant message.

18. The device of claim 17 , wherein the instructions are such that the communication device is operative to set a timer of a duration during which further sending of a BSR or a SR for the at least one logical channel is prohibited after the second transmitting has finished.

19. The device of claim 16 :

wherein the radio network is a New Radio (NR) network in which the communication device operates in time slots of the first duration in a first portion of a band and also operates in time slots of the second duration in a second portion of the band;
