Topical mosquito control product
A topical mosquito control product includes active and inert ingredients. The active ingredients include natural materials and may include soybean oil, cinnamon oil, clove oil, thyme and geraniol. The inert ingredients include natural materials and may include bee's wax, sunflower oil, triethyl citrate, water, vanillin, steric acid, xanthan gum and lecithin.
1. A topical mosquito repellent composition comprising:
a lotion including effective amounts therefor of active and inert ingredients, wherein the active ingredients include soybean oil, cinnamon oil, clove oil, thyme and geraniol and the inert ingredients include bee's wax, sunflower oil, triethyl citrate, water, vanillin, steric acid, xanthan gum and lecithin.

The topical mosquito repellent composition of claim 1 wherein the bee's wax is present in an amount of from 8 to 16% by weight, the soybean oil is present in an amount of from 18 to 40% by weight, the sunflower oil is present in an amount of from 20 to 45% by weight, the cinnamon oil is present at about 0.5 to 1.5% by weight, the clove oil is present at about 1 to 4% by weight, the thyme oil is present at about 1 to 3% by weight, the geraniol is present in an amount of from 2.5% to 5.5% by weight, the triethyl citrate is present in an amount of from 0.5% to 3.5% by weight, water is present in an amount of from 3 to 7% by weight, steric acid is present in an amount of from 2 to 5% by weight, and xanthan gum is present in an amount of from 0.2 to 0.5% by weight.
3. A method of repelling insects comprising:
applying a lotion composition to a body and exposing insects to the lotion, the lotion including effective amounts therefor of active and inert ingredients, wherein the active ingredients include soybean oil, cinnamon oil, clove oil, thyme and geraniol and the inert ingredients include bee's wax, sunflower oil, triethyl citrate, water, vanillin, steric acid, xanthan gum and lecithin.

The method of claim 3 wherein wherein the bee's wax is present in an amount of from 8 to 16% by weight, the soybean oil is present in an amount of from 18 to 40% by weight, the sunflower oil is present in an amount of from 20 to 45% by weight, the cinnamon oil is present at about 0.5 to 1.5% by weight, the clove oil is present at about 1 to 4% by weight, the thyme oil is present at about 1 to 3% by weight, the geraniol is present in an amount of from 2.5% to 5.5% by weight, the triethyl citrate is present in an amount of from 0.5% to 3.5% by weight, water is present in an amount of from 3 to 7% by weight, steric acid is present in an amount of from 2 to 5% by weight, and xanthan gum is present in an amount of from 0.2 to 0.5% by weight.
5. A topical mosquito repellent composition comprising:
a spray including effective amounts therefor of active and inert ingredients, wherein the active ingredients include peppermint oil, clove oil, rosemary oil and geraniol and the inert ingredients include sunflower oil, triethyl citrate, water, vanillin, monolaurin and lecithin.

The topical mosquito repellent composition of claim 1 wherein the sunflower oil is present in an amount of from 26 to 32% by weight, the peppermint oil is present is present in an amount of from 0.5 to 1.5% by weight, the clove oil is present in an amount of from 2 to 5% by weight, the rosemary oil is present in an amount of from 1 to 3% by weight, the geraniol is present in an amount of from 2.5% to 5.5% by weight, the triethyl citrate is present in an amount of from 1.5% to 3.0% by weight, water is present in an amount of from 35 to 73% by weight, monolaurin is present in an amount of from 2 to 5% by weight, vanillin is present in an amount of from 3 to 7% by weight and lecithin is present at about 0.5% by weight.
