Abstract

Provided is an energy storage device which can sufficiently reduce a resistance of a current path. An energy storage device includes: an outer case having a lid plate on which an external terminal is mounted; a plate having a tab and housed in the outer case; a conductive shaft portion penetrating the lid plate and having one end thereof connected to the external terminal; and a conductive plate portion housed in the outer case, and having a first surface to which the other end of the conductive shaft portion is connected and a second surface to which the tab is connected, wherein a size of the conductive plate portion and a size of the tab are respectively set larger than a size of the external terminal in a planar direction of the lid plate.

Claims (40)

wherein the tab protrudes from an end edge of the plate toward the lid plate.

2. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein the second surface of the conductive plate portion is formed flat, and

wherein the tab is connected to at least a portion of the conductive plate portion which is disposed opposite to the conductive shaft portion.

3. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein, as viewed in cross section, one end of the conductive plate portion and the other end of the conductive plate portion protrude from one side end and an other side end of the external terminal respectively in the planar direction of the lid plate, and the tab is connected to the conductive plate portion ranging from a portion of the conductive plate portion protruding from one side end of the external terminal to a portion of the conductive plate portion protruding from the other side end of the external terminal.

4. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein the conductive plate portion and the conductive shaft portion are integrally formed with each other.

5. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein a through hole is formed in the external terminal, and

wherein one end of the conductive shaft portion is inserted into the through hole and is swaged to the external terminal.

6. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein the size of the tab in the planer direction of the lid plate is set larger than the external terminal in the planar direction of the lid plate and smaller than an electrical insulating member disposed between the lid plate and the conductive plate portion in the planar direction of the lid plate.

7. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein, in the planar direction of the lid plate, the tab is completely spaced apart from the side surface of the outer case.

8. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein, in the planar direction of the lid plate, the tab is spaced apart from an entirety of inner surfaces of the outer case that enclose the plate.

9. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , further comprising an other plate disposed adjacent to the tab, the other plate including an other tab which is spaced apart from the side surface of the outer case and is connected to the tab.

10. The energy storage device according to claim 9 , wherein the tab and the other tab are joined together below the conductive plate portion.

11. The energy storage device according to claim 1 , wherein the plate includes a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, and

wherein the tab includes a positive electrode tab extending from an end edge of the positive electrode plate toward the lid plate and a negative electrode tab extending from an end edge of the negative electrode plate toward the lid plate.

12. The energy storage device according to claim 11 , wherein, in the planar direction of the lid plate, the positive electrode tab and the negative electrode tab are completely spaced apart from the side surface of the outer case.

13. The energy storage device according to claim 11 , wherein, in the planar direction of the lid plate, the positive electrode tab and the negative electrode tab are spaced apart from an entirety of inner surfaces of the outer case that enclose the plate.

14. The energy storage device according to claim 11 , wherein the positive electrode tab and the negative electrode tab are completely spaced apart from the outer case and connect together before connecting to the conductive plate portion.

15. The energy storage device according to claim 11 , wherein the conductive plate portion includes a positive electrode conductive plate portion and a negative electrode conductive plate portion,

wherein the conductive shaft portion includes a positive electrode conductive shaft portion and a negative electrode conductive shaft portion,

wherein the positive electrode tab is connected to at least a portion of the positive electrode conductive plate portion, the portion being disposed opposite to the positive electrode conductive shaft portion, and

wherein the negative electrode tab is connected to at least a portion of the negative electrode conductive plate portion, the portion of the negative electrode conductive plate portion being disposed opposite to the negative electrode conductive shaft portion.

16. An energy storage device comprising:

an outer case including a lid plate on which an external terminal is mounted;

a plate including a tab and housed in the outer case;

a conductive shaft portion penetrating the lid plate and having one end thereof connected to the external terminal; and
