Fragrance compositions containing norbornene derivatives for household products
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention relate generally to a variety of norbornene derivatives exhibiting olfactive properties and are suitable as fragrance ingredient in a number of household products including but not limited to soaps, detergents, fabric softeners and other laundry products, air fresheners, room diffusers, candles, conditioners, and the like. More specifically, this invention relates to various fragrance compositions containing one or more of a compound of formulae (IA) or (IB): Wherein a, m, n, R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are as defined herein. The compounds of formulae (IA) or (IB) are useful as perfume augmenting, modifying, enhancing, and imparting compositions. The compositions of this invention are therefore useful in a variety of household products, among various other perfumed products.
1. A fragrance composition for a household product, said composition comprising:
a) an olfactory acceptable amount of at least one compound in the form of any one of its enantiomers or a mixture thereof, which is selected from the group consisting of:
b) at least one of a fragrance carrier and a fragrance base selected from the group consisting of alpha-isomethyl ionone, cyclohexane-1-methanol,alpha,3,3-trimethyl formate (aphermate), (E)-2-ethyl-4-(2,2,3-trimethyl-1-cyclopent-3-enyl)but-2-en-1-ol (bacdanol), 6,7-dihydro-1,1,2,3,3-pentamethyl-4(5H)-indanone (cashmeran), cedarwood oil, galaxolide, hexyl cinnamic aldehyde, citronellol, 3,4,5,6,6-pentamethylheptan-2-ol (kohinool), linalool, linalyl acetate, styrallyl acetate, butylphenyl methylpropional (lilial), 2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-carbaldehyde (triplal), orange terpenes, musk ketone, ethylene brassylate, ethyl vanillin, coumarin, helional, methyl dihydrojasmonate (hedione), oxacyclohexadecan-2-one (exaltolide), patchouli oil, (3aR,5aS,9aS,9bR)-3a,6,6,9a-tetramethyldodecahydronaphtho[2,1-b]furan (ambroxan), beta-ionone, geraniol, cyclamen aldehyde, phenyl ethyl alcohol, benzyl acetate, benzaldehyde, allyl cyclohexyl propionate, cis-3-hexenol, cis-3-hexenyl acetate, hexyl acetate and ethyl alcohol; and
c) optionally at least one fragrance adjuvant.
2. The fragrance composition according to claim 1 , wherein said compound is:
3. The fragrance composition according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one compound is present in the composition at less than one parts by weight per one hundred parts by weight of the total composition.
4. The fragrance composition according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one compound is present in the composition at least in the amount of about one parts by weight per one hundred parts by weight of the total composition.
5. The fragrance composition according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one compound is present in the composition at least in the amount of about two parts by weight per one hundred parts by weight of the total composition.
6. The fragrance composition according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one compound is present in the composition at less than three parts by weight per one hundred parts by weight of the total composition.
7. A perfuming composition comprising i) at least one compound, as defined in claim 1 ; ii) at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of a perfumery carrier and a perfumery base; and iii) optionally at least one perfumery adjuvant.
8. A perfuming household product comprising: i) at least one compound, as defined in claim 1 , which is selected from the group consisting of:
and ii) a perfumery consumer base.
9. A perfuming household product according to claim 8 , wherein said perfuming household product is selected from the group consisting of a liquid or solid detergent, soap, dish detergent, fabric softener, air freshener, room diffuser, candles and conditioner.

A perfuming household product comprising: i) 5-cyclohexylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene (NBCyHex); and ii) at least one perfumery consumer base selected from the group consisting of lyral, musk ketone, rosemary oil, alpha-terpinene, timber silk, galaxolide, grisambrol, citronellol, 3,4,5,6,6-pentamethylheptan-2-ol (kohinool), linalool, linalyl acetate, styrallyl acetate, butylphenyl methylpropional (lilial), 2,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-carbaldehyde (triplal), orange terpenes, ethylene brassylate, ethyl vanillin, coumarin, helional, methyl dihydrojasmonate (hedione), oxacyclohexadecan-2-one (exaltolide), patchouli oil, (3aR,5aS,9aS,9bR)-3a,6,6,9a-tetramethyldodecahydronaphtho[2,1-b]furan (ambroxan), beta-ionone, geraniol, cyclamen aldehyde and (4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) acetate.
11. A perfuming household product according to claim 10 , wherein said perfuming household product is selected from the group consisting of soap, room diffuser, candles, air freshener, fabric softener and conditioner.

A method to confer, enhance, improve or modify the odor properties of a perfuming composition or of a perfumed article, which method comprises adding to said composition or article an effective amount of at least one compound in the form of any one of its enantiomers or a mixture thereof, which is selected from the group consisting of:
