Abstract

Disclosed herein are various embodiments for meeting space collaboration in augmented reality computing environments. An embodiment operates by receiving a request from a first user to join a virtual meeting space from a first location, wherein the virtual meeting space includes a plurality of virtual objects accessible to the user through the virtual meeting space. A size of the virtual meeting space and a size of a viewing space in the first location are determined. The size of the virtual meeting space for the first user is reduced to fit into the size of the viewing space in the first location. The reduced size virtual meeting space is provided for display in the viewing space of the first location for the first user.

Claims (44)

1. A method comprising:

receiving a request from a first user to join a virtual meeting space from a first location, wherein the virtual meeting space includes a plurality of virtual objects accessible to the first user through the virtual meeting space;

determining a size of the virtual meeting space;

determining a size of a viewing space in the first location, wherein the size of the viewing space in the first location is less than the size of the virtual meeting space;

reducing the size of the virtual meeting space for the first user to fit into the size of the viewing space in the first location, wherein one or more of the plurality of virtual objects are reduced in size in the virtual meeting space;

identifying a wall in the virtual meeting space including at least a subset of digital objects of the plurality of digital objects visible on the wall;

reducing a size of the wall in the virtual meeting space for the first user, wherein one object of the subset of digital objects is not visible on the wall at the reduced size of the wall;

generating a scroll bar for display in the wall at the reduced size, wherein the scroll bar provides access to the one object not visible on the wall at the reduced size; and

providing the reduced size virtual meeting space, including the one or more reduced size virtual objects, for display in the viewing space of the first location for the first user.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the virtual meeting space was previously accessed, prior to receiving the request, by the first user from a second location, wherein a viewing space in the second location was larger than the viewing space in the first location, and wherein the determined size of the virtual meeting space was based on the viewing space in the second location.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises providing the reduced size virtual meeting space for display on an interface of a virtual headset worn by the first user in the first location.

The method of claim 1 , wherein a second user was in the virtual meeting space from a second location prior to receiving the request, wherein the size of the virtual meeting space was based on the second location, and wherein a size of the virtual meeting space for the second user remains unchanged responsive to the reducing the size.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing comprises providing a dollhouse view of the virtual meeting space.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one object not visible on the wall at the reduced size is visible to a second user accessing the virtual meeting space from a second location, wherein a viewing space of the second location is larger than the viewing space of the first location.

7. A system comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to perform operations comprising:

receiving a request from a first user to join a virtual meeting space from a first location, wherein the virtual meeting space includes a plurality of virtual objects accessible to the first user through the virtual meeting space;

determining a size of the virtual meeting space;

determining a size of a viewing space in the first location, wherein the size of the viewing space in the first location is less than the size of the virtual meeting space;

reducing the size of the virtual meeting space for the first user to fit into the size of the viewing space in the first location, wherein one or more of the plurality of virtual objects are reduced in size in the virtual meeting space;

identifying a wall in the virtual meeting space including at least a subset of digital objects of the plurality of digital objects visible on the wall;

reducing a size of the wall in the virtual meeting space for the first user, wherein one object of the subset of digital objects is not visible on the wall at the reduced size of the wall;

generating a scroll bar for display in the wall at the reduced size, wherein the scroll bar provides access to the one object not visible on the wall at the reduced size; and

providing the reduced size virtual meeting space, including the one or more reduced size virtual objects, for display in the viewing space of the first location for the first user.

The system of claim 7 , wherein the virtual meeting space was previously accessed, prior to receiving the request, by the first user from a second location, wherein a viewing space in the second location was larger than the viewing space in the first location, and wherein the determined size of the virtual meeting space was based on the viewing space in the second location.

9. The system of claim 7 , wherein the providing comprises providing the reduced size virtual meeting space for display on an interface of a virtual headset worn by the first user in the first location.

The system of claim 7 , wherein a second user was in the virtual meeting space from a second location prior to receiving the request, wherein the size of the virtual meeting space was based on the second location, and wherein a size of the virtual meeting space for the second user remains unchanged responsive to the reducing the size.

11. The system of claim 7 , wherein the providing comprises providing a dollhouse view of the virtual meeting space.

12. The system of claim 7 , wherein the one object not visible on the wall at the reduced size is visible to a second user accessing the virtual meeting space from a second location, wherein a viewing space of the second location is larger than the viewing space of the first location.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations comprising:

receiving a request from a first user to join a virtual meeting space from a first location, wherein the virtual meeting space includes a plurality of virtual objects accessible to the first user through the virtual meeting space;

determining a size of the virtual meeting space;

determining a size of a viewing space in the first location, wherein the size of the viewing space in the first location is less than the size of the virtual meeting space;

reducing the size of the virtual meeting space for the first user to fit into the size of the viewing space in the first location, wherein one or more of the plurality of virtual objects are reduced in size in the virtual meeting space;

identifying a wall in the virtual meeting space including at least a subset of digital objects of the plurality of digital objects visible on the wall;

reducing a size of the wall in the virtual meeting space for the first user, wherein one object of the subset of digital objects is not visible on the wall at the reduced size of the wall;

generating a scroll bar for display in the wall at the reduced size, wherein the scroll bar provides access to the one object not visible on the wall at the reduced size; and

providing the reduced size virtual meeting space, including the one or more reduced size virtual objects, for display in the viewing space of the first location for the first user.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the virtual meeting space was previously accessed, prior to receiving the request, by the first user from a second location, wherein a viewing space in the second location was larger than the viewing space in the first location, and wherein the determined size of the virtual meeting space was based on the viewing space in the second location.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the providing comprises providing the reduced size virtual meeting space for display on an interface of a virtual headset worn by the first user in the first location.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein a second user was in the virtual meeting space from a second location prior to receiving the request, wherein the size of the virtual meeting space was based on the second location, and wherein a size of the virtual meeting space for the second user remains unchanged responsive to the reducing the size.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the providing comprises providing a dollhouse view of the virtual meeting space.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the one object not visible on the wall at the reduced size is visible to a second user accessing the virtual meeting space from a second location, wherein a viewing space of the second location is larger than the viewing space of the first location.
