Abstract

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for rate-matching a data transmission around resources. One method includes: receiving a downlink control channel (“DCC”) transmission in a predetermined time period; determining a first DCC candidate (“DCCC”) based on the downlink control channel transmission; determining whether the first DCCC belongs to a plurality of DCCCs associated with the DCC transmission, wherein the plurality of DCCCs carry the same downlink control information (“DCI”); in response to determining that the first DCCC belongs to the plurality of DCCCs: determining a second DCCC; and determining the DCI by decoding the first and the second DCCCs; in response to determining that the first DCCC does not belong to the plurality of DCCCs: determining the DCI by decoding the first DCCC; and determining downlink resources corresponding to a data transmission; and rate-matching the data transmission.

Claims (68)

1. A method comprising:

receiving an indication from a network, wherein:

the indication indicates that downlink control information is transmitted up to ‘k’ times using up to ‘k’ control channels;

a first subset of the control channels is transmitted in a first set of control resource sets;

the first subset of the control channels is associated with a first transmission beam;

a second subset of the control channels is transmitted in a second set of control resource sets;

the second subset of the control channels is associated with a second transmission beam;

the first transmission beam and the second transmission beam are different;

the first set of control resource sets and the second set of control resource sets are different;

the first subset of the control channels and the second subset of the control channels are different;

the first subset of the control channels has a first starting bit index for control channel rate matching;

the second subset of the control channels has a second starting bit index for the control channel rate matching; and

the first starting bit index is different from the second starting bit index:

receiving at least one control channel of the control channels containing a first downlink control information; and

communicating with the network according to the first downlink control information.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the first subset of the control channels is associated with a first scrambling sequence; and

the second subset of the control channels is associated with a second scrambling sequence.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication indicates:

a first index for a first control channel of the first subset of the control channels; and

a second index for a second control channel of the second subset of the control channels.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

for k=1, a downlink control information size is a first downlink control information size; and

for k>1, the downlink control information size is a second downlink control information size.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein a first cyclic redundancy check mask of the first subset of the control channels is different from a second cyclic redundancy check mask of the second subset of the control channels.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first subset of the control channels is received in the same slot as the slot in which the second subset of the control channels are received.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the first subset of the control channels is associated with a first control channel repetition index;

the second subset of the control channels is associated with a second control channel repetition index; and

the first control channel repetition index and the second control channel repetition index are different.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second subset of the control channels has the same aggregation level as the first subset of the control channels.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the first set of control resource sets and the second set of control resource sets overlap in at least one resource block.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein a first control resource set and a second control resource set of the first set of control resource sets overlap in at least one resource block.

11. An apparatus comprising:

a receiver that:

receives an indication from a network, wherein:

the indication indicates that downlink control information is transmitted up to ‘k’ times using up to ‘k’ control channels;

a first subset of the control channels is transmitted in a first set of control resource sets;

the first set of control resource sets and the second set of control resource sets are different;

the first subset of the control channels and the second subset of the control channels are different;

the first subset of the control channels has a first starting bit index for control channel rate matching;

the second subset of the control channels has a second starting bit index for the control channel rate matching; and

the first starting bit index is different from the second starting bit index;

and

receives at least one control channel of the control channels containing a first downlink control information; and

a processor that communicates with the network according to the first downlink control information.

12. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein:

the first subset of the control channels is associated with a first scrambling sequence; and

the second subset of the control channels is associated with a second scrambling sequence.

13. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the indication indicates:

a first index for a first control channel of the first subset of the control channels; and

a second index for a second control channel of the second subset of the control channels.
