the robot and the other robot are configured to move concurrently through areas that overlap.

8. The device of claim 7 , wherein:

the robot and the other robot each comprise a plurality of omniwheels or mecanum wheels.

9. The device of claim 1 , wherein:

the plurality of alimentary-ingredient dispensers comprise a coffee dispenser; and

the open-top vessel dispenser is configured to dispense coffee cups.

10. The device of claim 1 , wherein:

the plurality of alimentary-ingredient dispensers comprise a quinoa dispenser, a pizza ingredient dispenser, a yogurt dispenser, an ice-cream dispenser, or a lettuce dispenser; and

the open-top vessel dispenser is configured to dispense bowls.

11. The device of claim 1 , wherein the robot comprises:

a controller;

a first rail, having a first end and a second end;

a second rail, spaced from the first rail, the second rail having a first end and a second end, wherein the first rail and the second rail are parallel to one another;

a gantry, positioned perpendicular to the first and second rails, the gantry having a first end movable along the first rail and a second end movable along the second rail;

a first actuator coupled to the first rail to move the gantry along the first rail, between the first end of the first rail and the second end of the first rail, wherein the first actuator is configured to be controlled by the controller;

a carrier, coupled to the gantry, configured to receive an open-top vessel, the vessel being configured to hold a beverage;

a second actuator coupled to the gantry configured to displace the carrier along the gantry, between the first end and the second end of the gantry, wherein the second actuator is configured to be controlled by the controller;

a first position sensor, coupled to the controller, disposed to measure a position of the gantry with respect to the first rail; and

a second position sensor, coupled to the controller, disposed to measure a position of the carrier with respect to the gantry;

wherein the controller is configured to cause the first actuator and the second actuator to move the carrier and to calculate a position of the carrier based on signals from the first position sensor and the second position sensor.

12. The device of claim 11 , further comprising:

a third actuator coupled to the second rail configured to move the gantry along the second rail, between the first end and the second end of the second rail, wherein the third actuator is configured to be controlled by the controller;

a third position sensor, coupled to the controller, disposed to measure a position of the gantry with respect to the second rail; and

the controller calculates a position of the carrier based on signals from signals from the first position sensor, the second position sensor, and the third position sensor.

13. The device of claim 12 , wherein:

the controller is configured to calculate a position of the carrier as a weighted combination of signals from the first position sensor and the third position sensor.

14. The device of claim 11 , wherein

the first actuator and the second actuator are configured to move concurrently;

the first and the second position sensors are non-contact sensors; and

the first and second rails and the gantry have an H-shaped configuration.

15. The device of claim 11 , comprising:

a third actuator coupled to a plurality of end-effectors, wherein the plurality of end-effectors are configured to be engaged to move the open-top vessel; and

a member connecting the third actuator to the carrier.

16. The device of claim 15 , wherein:

the third actuator is configured to move along a z axis, wherein the z axis is perpendicular to the first rail and the second rail.
