Abstract

A heat dissipation device includes a body including a first metal sheet and a second metal sheet coupled to the first metal sheet. The first metal sheet at least partially defines a first channel including a first plurality of curves, a second channel including a second plurality of curves, and an interconnecting channel fluidly coupled to the first channel and the second channel. The first channel and the interconnecting channel at least partially surround the second channel, a unit volume of the first channel is a same as a unit volume of the interconnecting channel, and the unit volumes of the first channel and the interconnecting channel are different from a unit volume of the second channel.

Claims (37)

1. A heat dissipation device, comprising:

a body including a first metal sheet and a second metal sheet coupled to the first metal sheet, wherein the first metal sheet at least partially defines:

a first channel including a first plurality of curves;

a second channel including a second plurality of curves; and

an interconnecting channel fluidly coupled to the first channel and the second channel, wherein

a first end of the first channel is fluidly coupled to a first end of the interconnecting channel and a second end of the first channel is fluidly coupled to a second end of the interconnecting channel, wherein the first and second ends of the first channel are opposite each other and the first and second ends of the interconnecting channel are opposite each other,

a first end of the second channel is fluidly coupled to the first end of the interconnecting channel and a second end of the second channel is fluidly coupled to the second end of the interconnecting channel, wherein the first and second ends of the second channel are opposite each other,

the second channel extends transversely from a connection between the second channel and the interconnecting channel,

the first channel and the interconnecting channel at least partially surround the second channel,

an entirety of the first channel and an entirety of the interconnecting channel have the same unit volume as each other, and

the unit volumes of the first channel and the interconnecting channel are different from a unit volume of the second channel.

2. The heat dissipation device of claim 1 , wherein the first channel and the second channel are disposed in a non-intersecting pattern on the first metal sheet.

3. The heat dissipation device of claim 1 , wherein the first channel is disposed adjacent longitudinally opposite outer edges of the body and the second channel is disposed at least partially surrounded by the first channel.

4. The heat dissipation device of claim 1 , wherein the interconnecting channel is fluidly coupled to ends of the first channel and the second channel.

5. The heat dissipation device of claim 1 , wherein the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet are not bonded to each other at locations including the first channel, the second channel and the interconnecting channel.

6. The heat dissipation device of claim 1 , wherein the first channel, the second channel and the interconnecting channel are each defined as recesses in the first metal sheet, and the recesses forming the first channel and the interconnecting channel have a same first depth.

7. The heat dissipation device of claim 6 , wherein a recess forming the second channel has a second depth different from the first depth.

8. The heat dissipation device of claim 6 , wherein a width of the recess, respectively, of each of the first channel, the second channel, and the interconnecting channel are consistent throughout.

9. A method of forming a heat dissipation device, comprising:

providing a first metal sheet and a second metal sheet;

printing patterns of a first channel including a first plurality of curves, a second channel including a second plurality of curves, and an interconnecting channel on the first metal sheet wherein

a first end of the first channel is fluidly coupled to a first end of the interconnecting channel and a second end of the first channel is fluidly coupled to a second end of the interconnecting channel, wherein the first and second ends of the first channel are opposite each other and the first and second ends of the interconnecting channel are opposite each other,

a first end of the second channel is fluidly coupled to the first end of the interconnecting channel and a second end of the second channel is fluidly coupled to the second end of the interconnecting channel, wherein the first and second ends of the second channel are opposite each other,

the second channel extends transversely from a connection between the second channel and the interconnecting channel,

the first channel and the interconnecting channel at least partially surround the second channel,

an entirety of the first channel and an entirety of the interconnecting channel have the same unit volume as each other, and

the unit volumes of the first channel and the interconnecting channel are different from a unit volume of the second channel;

bonding the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet to each other at locations not including the first channel, the second channel, and the interconnecting channel;

separating the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet from each other to form the first channel, the second channel, and the interconnecting channel by introducing a fluid between the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet;

introducing working fluid in the plurality of channels; and

sealing the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

securing a working pipe to a working channel defined by the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet, the working channel being in fluid communication with the first channel, the second channel, and the interconnecting channel; and

introducing working fluid in the first channel, the second channel, and the interconnecting channel via the working pipe and the working channel.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein printing the first channel, the second channel, and the interconnecting channel on the first metal sheet includes printing a graphite pattern on the first metal sheet.

12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the first channel, the second channel and the interconnecting channel are each defined as recesses in the first metal sheet, and the recesses forming the first channel and the interconnecting channel have a same first depth.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein a recess forming the second channel has a second depth different from the first depth.
