Abstract

A coil forming apparatus includes: a coil winding jig including a plurality of comb-shaped grooves; a coil conveying mechanism that pivotally conveys the belt-shaped coil along at least a portion of the outer periphery of the coil winding jig; and guide members guide the belt-shaped coil in an arc shape along an outer periphery of the coil winding jig while being in contact with the side ends, and allow the plurality of straight portions to be inserted into a respective one of the plurality of comb-shaped grooves in a second half portion of the belt-shaped coil upon pivot conveyance. The guide members include a reforming portion in a first half portion of the belt-shaped coil upon pivot conveyance, and the reforming portion deforms and reforms the belt-shaped coil in an arc shape in a state sandwiching the side ends of the belt-shaped coil.

Claims (15)

1. A coil forming apparatus that forms a belt-shaped coil in a wound state, the belt-shaped coil including a plurality of straight portions and side ends provided on both ends of the plurality of straight portions, the apparatus comprising:

a coil winding jig that winds the belt-shaped coil, the coil winding jig including a jig body arranged between axial ends of the coil winding jig and including a plurality of comb-shaped grooves on the outer periphery thereof each of which can hold a respective one of the plurality of straight portions therein;

a coil conveying organizer that pivotally conveys the belt-shaped coil along at least a portion of the outer periphery of the coil winding jig; and

guide members with a substantially U-shape that are provided laterally along the coil conveying organizer in a vicinity of both axial ends of the coil winding jig and guide the belt-shaped coil in an arc shape along the outer periphery of the coil winding jig while being in contact with the side ends of the belt-shaped coil to insert the plurality of straight portions into a respective one of the plurality of comb-shaped grooves of the coil winding jig in a second half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance,

wherein the guide members include a reforming portion in a first half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance, and the reforming portion including a guide plate that deforms and reforms the belt-shaped coil in an arc shape along the outer periphery of the coil winding jig in a state sandwiching the side ends of the belt-shaped coil between the reforming plate and a reforming groove of the guide members.

2. The coil forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the guide members guide the belt-shaped coil so as to be in an arc shape having a diameter smaller than an outer diameter of the coil winding jig in the second half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance, and allow the plurality of straight portions to be inserted into a respective one of the plurality of comb-shaped grooves of the coil winding jig.

3. The coil forming apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the guide members each include an inner wall surface to be in contact with the side ends of the belt-shaped coil at a wall surface thereof in the second half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance.

4. The coil forming apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the guide members each include an inner wall surface to be in contact with the side ends of the belt-shaped coil at a wall surface thereof in an entire length of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance.

5. A coil forming method for forming a belt-shaped coil in a wound state, the belt-shaped coil including a plurality of straight portions and side ends provided on both ends of the plurality of straight portions, the method comprising:

a coil conveying step of pivotally conveying the belt-shaped coil along at least a portion of an outer periphery of a coil winding jig using a coil conveying organizer, the coil winding jig including a jig body arranged between axial ends of the coil winding jig and including a plurality of comb-shaped grooves on the outer periphery of the coil winding jig each of which can hold a respective one of the plurality of straight portions therein, and being configured to wind the belt-shaped coil, and

a guiding step of providing guide members in a vicinity of both axial ends of the coil winding jig guiding the belt-shaped coil so as to be in an arc shape along an outer diameter of the coil winding jig while the guiding members are in contact with the side ends of the belt-shaped coil, and, in a second half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance to insert the plurality of straight portions to be inserted into a respective one of the plurality of comb-shaped grooves of the coil winding jig,

wherein the guiding step further includes a reforming step that deforms and reforms the belt-shaped coil in an arc shape along the outer periphery of the coil winding jig in a state sandwiching the side ends of the belt-shaped coil, by a reforming portion of the guide members in a first half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance.

6. The coil forming method according to claim 5 , wherein the guiding step further includes guiding the belt-shaped coil so as to be in an arc shape having a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the coil winding jig in the second half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance, and allowing the plurality of straight portions to be inserted into a respective one of the plurality of comb-shaped grooves of the coil winding jig.

7. The coil forming method according to claim 6 , wherein the guiding step further includes guiding the side ends of the belt-shaped coil by an inner wall surface of each of the guide members in the second half portion of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance.

8. The coil forming method according to claim 6 , wherein the guiding step further includes guiding the side ends of the belt-shaped coil by an inner wall surface of each of the guide members in an entire length of the coil conveying organizer upon pivot conveyance.
