Abstract

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a computer-implemented method including receiving, by a user computing device, data that describes a destination for the media content item. Example destinations can include a location of a recipient of message including the media content item and a digital location (e.g., website, social networking page, etc.). The method can include selecting, by a computing system comprising the user computing device, one or more media content items based on the data that describes the destination for the media content item. Media content items that are more relevant and/or appropriate can be selected by considering the destination of the media content item. The selected media content item(s) can be provided for display by the user computing device in a dynamic keyboard interface.

Claims (31)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving, by a user computing device, data that describes a media content item destination, wherein the media content item destination comprises a particular application in which the media content item is to be inserted;

selecting, by a computing system comprising the user computing device, one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination, wherein the one or more media content items are selected based on the particular application, wherein the one or more media content items comprise animated image content; and

providing, by the computing system for display by the user computing device in a dynamic keyboard interface, the one or more media content items.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, by the user computing device, a search query for the media content item via the dynamic keyboard interface displayed by the user computing device, and wherein selecting the one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination comprises selecting the one or more media content items additionally based on the search query.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes content that has been previously shared via the particular application by other users.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes content that has been previously shared with via computer application by a user of the user computing device.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes an intended recipient of a message in which the media content item is to be inserted.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes a geographic location of the intended recipient of the message.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes a technical characteristic of a recipient computing device.

The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , wherein selecting, by the computing system comprising the user computing device, the one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination comprises selecting the one or more media content items based on a comparison of a technical characteristic of the media content item with a threshold value determined based on a technical characteristic of the recipient computing device.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein selecting, by the computing system comprising the user computing device, the one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination comprises selecting one or more target attributes of the media content item based on the data that describes the media content item destination, the one or more target attributes comprising at least one of tone, text characteristics, duration, and emotion.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein providing, by the computing system, for display the one or more media content items comprises arranging, by the computing system, the one or more media content items for display based on the data that describes the media content item destination.

11. A computing system comprising:

at least one processor;

at least one tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium that stores instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving data that describes a media content item destination, wherein the media content item destination comprises a particular application in which the media content item is to be inserted;

selecting one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination, wherein the one or more media content items are selected based on the particular application, wherein the one or more media content items comprise animated image content; and

providing the one or more media content items for display in a dynamic keyboard interface.

The computing system of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving a search query for the media content item via the dynamic keyboard interface displayed by a user computing device, and wherein selecting the one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination comprises selecting the one or more media content items additionally based on the search query.

13. The computing system of claim 11 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes content that has been previously shared via the particular application by other users.

14. The computing system of claim 11 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes content that has been previously shared with via computer application by a user of a user computing device.

15. The computing system of claim 11 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes an intended recipient of a message in which the media content item is to be inserted.

16. The computing system of claim 15 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes a geographic location of the intended recipient of the message.

17. The computing system of claim 15 , wherein the data that describes the media content item destination describes a technical characteristic of a recipient computing device.

18. The computing system of claim 11 , wherein selecting the one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination comprises selecting one or more target attributes of the media content item based on the data that describes the media content item destination, the one or more target attributes comprising at least one of tone, text characteristics, duration, and emotion.

19. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media that collectively store instructions that, when executed by one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving data that describes a media content item destination, wherein the media content item destination comprises a particular application in which the media content item is to be inserted;

selecting one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination, wherein the one or more media content items are selected based on the particular application, wherein the one or more media content items comprise animated image content; and

providing the one or more media content items for display in a dynamic keyboard interface.

The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein selecting the one or more media content items based on the data that describes the media content item destination comprises selecting one or more target attributes of the media content item based on the data that describes the media content item destination, the one or more target attributes comprising a tone.
