Abstract

A method including receiving, by a first device during communication with a second device in a mesh network, information indicating a determined first communication parameter utilized by the first device to communicate in the mesh network; determining, by the first device during communication in the mesh network, that the determined first communication parameter is different from a stored first communication parameter; and transmitting, by the first device during communication in the mesh network, a message indicating the determined first communication parameter to enable the second device to communicate with the first device in the mesh network utilizing the determined first communication parameter. Various other aspects are contemplated.

Claims (43)

1. A method, comprising:

utilizing, by a first device in a mesh network, an initial first communication parameter to communicate with a second device in the mesh network;

receiving, by the first device during communication with the second device, information indicating a current first communication parameter currently being utilized by the first device to communicate in the mesh network;

determining, by the first device during the communication with the second device, that the current first communication parameter is different from the initial first communication parameter; and

transmitting, by the first device during the communication with the second device and based at least in part on determining that the current first communication parameter is different from the initial first communication parameter, a message indicating the current first communication parameter to enable the second device to continue to communicate with the first device in the mesh network utilizing the current first communication parameter.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting the message includes transmitting the message to a relay device capable of relaying the message to the second device.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting the message includes encrypting the message utilizing a public key associated with the second device.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting the message includes transmitting the message utilizing the current first communication parameter.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein

determining that the current first communication parameter is different from the initial first communication parameter includes comparing the current first communication parameter with the initial first communication parameter.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a current second communication parameter utilized by the second device to communicate in the mesh network; and

communicating with the second device in the mesh network utilizing the current second communication parameter.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the initial first communication parameter includes an initial port utilized by the first device to communicate in the mesh network, and the current first communication parameter includes a current port currently being utilized by the first device to communicate in the mesh network, the current port being different than the initial port.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving information indicating the current first communication parameter includes receiving information indicating the current first communication parameter based at least in part on transmitting a binding request for an infrastructure device to determine the current first communication parameter.

9. A first device, comprising:

a memory; and

a processor communicatively coupled to the memory, the memory and the processor being configured to:

utilize, by the first device in a mesh network, an initial first communication parameter to communicate with a second device in the mesh network;

receive, during communication with the second device, information indicating a current first communication parameter currently being utilized by the first device to communicate in the mesh network;

determine, during the communication with the second device, that the current first communication parameter is different from the initial first communication parameter; and

transmit, during the communication with the second device and based at least in part on determining that the current first communication parameter is different than the initial first communication parameter, a message indicating the current first communication parameter to enable the second device to continue to communicate with the first device in the mesh network utilizing the current first communication parameter.

10. The first device of claim 9 , wherein, to transmit the message, the memory and the processor are configured to transmit the message to a relay device capable of relaying the message to the second device.

11. The first device of claim 9 , wherein, to transmit the message, the memory and the processor are configured to encrypt the message utilizing a public key associated with the second device.

12. The first device of claim 9 , wherein, to transmit the message, the memory and the processor are configured to transmit the message utilizing the current first communication parameter.

13. The first device of claim 9 , wherein,

to determine that the current first communication parameter is different from the initial first communication parameter, the memory and the processor are configured to compare the current first communication parameter with the initial first communication parameter.

14. The first device of claim 9 , wherein the memory and the processor are configured to:

receive a current second communication parameter utilized by the second device to communicate in the mesh network; and

communicate with the second device in the mesh network utilizing the current second communication parameter.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium configured to store instructions, which when executed by a processor associated with a first device, configure the processor to:

utilize, in a mesh network, an initial first communication parameter to communicate with a second device in the mesh network;

receive, during communication with the second device, information indicating a current first communication parameter currently being utilized by the first device to communicate in the mesh network;

determine, during the communication with the second device, that the current first communication parameter is different from the initial first communication parameter; and

transmit, during the communication with the second device and based at least in part on determining that the current first communication parameter is different from the initial first communication parameter, a message indicating the current first communication parameter to enable the second device to continue to communicate with the first device in the mesh network utilizing the current first communication parameter.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein, to transmit the message, the processor is configured to transmit the message to a relay device capable of relaying the message to the second device.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein, to transmit the message, the processor is configured to encrypt the message utilizing a public key associated with the second device.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein, to transmit the message, the processor is configured to transmit the message utilizing the current first communication parameter.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein,
