Abstract

An example method includes receiving, at a computing system, parameters from a vehicle, wherein the parameters correspond to a set of associated parameter identifiers (PIDs), and determining, by the computing system, one or more thresholds for one or more PIDs of the set of associated PIDs. The example method additionally includes determining, by the computing system, one or more indicators displayable on a first graph of parameters corresponding to a first PID of the set of associated PIDs. For instance, at least one indicator of the one or more indicators represents a parameter corresponding to a second PID of the set of associated PIDs breaching a threshold associated with the second PID. The example method further includes displaying, by the computing system on a graphical user interface, the first graph of parameters corresponding to the first PID and the one or more indicators on the first graph.

Claims (53)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, at a computing system and from a vehicle, first parameters corresponding to a first numeric parameter identifier (PID) and second parameters corresponding to a second numeric PID, wherein the first numeric PID is different than the second numeric PID;

displaying, by the computing system on a graphical user interface (GUI), a first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID with a first indicator that represents a parameter of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID;

receiving, at the computing system via the GUI, a selection of the first indicator; and

based on receiving the selection of the first indicator, displaying a second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein displaying the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID comprises:

switching from displaying the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID to displaying the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein displaying the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID comprises:

displaying the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID in addition to displaying the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein displaying the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID comprises:

displaying the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID with a second indicator that represents a parameter of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

responsive to receiving the selection of the first indicator, displaying a representation of options associated with the first indicator on the GUI.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein displaying the representation of options associated with the first indicator on the GUI comprises:

displaying the representation of options associated with the first indicator as a popup box in a foreground on the GUI.

7. The method of claim 5 , wherein displaying the representation of options associated with the first indicator on the GUI comprises:

displaying a set of options that include a functional test corresponding a system associated with the second numeric PID.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein displaying the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID further comprises:

displaying the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters to the first numeric PID with a second indicator that represents a parameter corresponding to a third numeric PID.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein displaying the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID with the second indicator that represents the parameter corresponding to the third numeric PID comprises:

displaying the first indicator and the second indicator on the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters according to a temporal order.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein displaying the first indicator and the second indicator on the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters according to the temporal order comprises:

displaying the first indicator and the second indicator as vertical cursors on the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters.

11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

receiving a selection of the second indicator; and

based on receiving the second indicator, displaying a third graph of parameters corresponding to the third numeric PID.

12. A system comprising:

a communication interface configured to communicatively couple to a vehicle;

a graphical user interface (GUI); and

a computing device configured to:

receive, from the vehicle, first parameters corresponding to a first numeric parameter identifier (PID) and second parameters corresponding to a second numeric PID, wherein the first numeric PID is different than the second numeric PID;

display, on the GUI, a first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID with a first indicator that represents a parameter of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID;

receive, via the GUI, a selection of the first indicator; and

based on receiving the selection of the first indicator, display, on the GUI, a second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID.

13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the communication interface is configured to communicatively couple to the vehicle via a wired connection.

14. The system of claim 12 , wherein the computing device is further configured to:

switch from displaying the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID to displaying the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID.

15. The system of claim 12 , wherein the computing device is further configured to:

display the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID in addition to displaying the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters corresponding to the first numeric PID.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the computing device is further configured to:

display the second graph of one or more parameters of the second parameters corresponding to the second numeric PID with a second indicator that represents a parameter corresponding to the first numeric PID.

17. The system of claim 12 , wherein the computing device is further configured to:

responsive to receiving the selection of the first indicator, display a representation of options associated with the first indicator on the GUI.

18. The system of claim 17 , wherein the computing device is further configured to:

display the representation of options associated with the first indicator as a popup box in a foreground on the GUI.

19. The system of claim 12 , wherein the computing device is further configured to:

display the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters to the first numeric PID with a second indicator that represents a parameter corresponding to a third numeric PID, wherein the first indicator and the second indicator are displayed on the first graph of one or more parameters of the first parameters according to a temporal order; and

responsive to receiving a selection of the second indicator, display a third graph of parameters corresponding to the third numeric PID.

20. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored therein instructions executable by one or more processors to cause a computing system to perform functions comprising:

receiving, from a vehicle, first parameters corresponding to a first numeric parameter identifier (PID) and second parameters corresponding to a second numeric PID, wherein the first numeric PID is different than the second numeric PID;
