Abstract

A system includes processor(s) and a gaming application to: store system data of the system in memory; receive data representative of a listing of at least one interactive electronic game(s) from a gaming platform hosting interactive electronic game(s); cause the listing to be viewable on an electronic display device; receive, via the electronic display device, objectives for winning for a selection of one of the interactive electronic game(s); determine a collusion enforcement policy for the selected interactive electronic game according to the system data; adjust a skill level of the selected interactive electronic game according to the objectives; initiate play for the selected interactive electronic game; monitor player action within, and changes to the system data during, play of the selected interactive electronic game; and enforce collusion rules for the selected interactive electronic game according to the collusion avoidance policy.

Claims (54)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

storing, in a memory storage device of a system, system data of the system;

receiving, using a communications interface of a system, data representative of a listing of at least one interactive electronic game from a gaming platform positioned remotely from the system to host the at least one interactive electronic game;

causing the listing to be viewable on an electronic display device of the system;

receiving, via the electronic display device, objectives for winning for a selection of one of the at least one interactive electronic games;

determining a collusion avoidance policy for the selected interactive electronic game according to the system data;

adjusting a skill level of the selected interactive electronic game according to the objectives;

initiating play for the selected interactive electronic game;

monitoring player action within, and changes to the system data during, play of the selected interactive electronic game; and

enforcing collusion rules for the selected interactive electronic game according to the collusion avoidance policy.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising receiving, using the communications interface, data representative of graphics of the selected interactive electronic game.

3. The method of claim 2 further comprising causing the graphics to be viewable on the electronic display device.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selected interactive electronic game is a game of skill.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selected interactive electronic game is an electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value, the method further comprising receiving, via the electronic display device, data representative of a bet or wager for the electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the system data includes a location of the system, the method further comprising determining, using means for determining the location, that the location of the system is a location where gambling or wagering for value is not permitted.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein enforcing the collusion rules comprises causing the system to prevent the selected electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value from being played using the system for the location being determined to be the location where gambling or wagering for value is not permitted.

8. The method of claim 5 further comprising determining a payout amount for the selected electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value based upon the objectives and completion of the objectives within the electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein enforcing the collusion rules comprises at least one of:

detecting cheating or collusion in the seleced interactive electronic game based on a review of the play of the selected interactive electronic game; and

disabling one or more operations of the system using electronic countermeasures.

10. A system comprising:

at least one processor;

a memory storage device, a communications interface, and an electronic display device, each operatively coupled to the at least one processor; and

a gaming application including program instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor to facilitate play using the system of at least one interactive electronic game by a player, cause the system to:

store, in the memory storage device, system data of the system;

receive, using the communications interface, data representative of a listing of the at least one interactive electronic game from a gaming platform positioned remotely from the system to host the at least one interactive electronic game;

cause the listing to be viewable on the electronic display device;

receive, via the electronic display device, objectives for winning for a selection of one of the at least one interactive electronic games;

determine a collusion avoidance policy for the selected interactive electronic game according to the system data;

adjust a skill level of the selected interactive electronic game according to the objectives;

initiate play for the selected interactive electronic game;

monitor player action within, and changes to the system data during, play of the selected interactive electronic game; and

enforce collusion rules for the selected interactive electronic game according to the collusion avoidance policy.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein when executed by the at least one processor, the program instructions further cause the system to receive, using the communications interface, data representative of graphics of the selected interactive electronic game.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein when executed by the at least one processor, the program instructions further cause the system to cause the graphics to be viewable on the electronic display device.

13. The system of claim 10 , wherein the selected interactive electronic game is a game of skill.

14. The system of claim 10 , wherein the selected interactive electronic game is an electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value, and wherein when executed by the at least one processor, the program instructions further cause the system to receive, via the electronic display device, data representative of a bet or wager for the electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value.

15. The system of claim 14 further comprising means for determining a location of the system, wherein the system data includes the location, and wherein when executed by the at least one processor, the program instructions further cause the system to determine that the location of the system is a location where gambling or wagering for value is not permitted.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein when executed by the at least one processor to enforce the collusion rules, the program instructions further cause the system to prevent the selected electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value from being played using the system for the location being determined to be the location where gambling or wagering for value is not permitted.

17. The system of claim 15 , wherein the means for determining the location of the system includes a global positioning system receiver.

18. The system of claim 14 , wherein when executed by the at least one processor, the program instructions further cause the system to determine a payout amount for the selected electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value based upon the objectives and completion of the objectives within the electronic game involving gambling or wagering for value.

19. The system of claim 10 , wherein when executed by the at least one processor to enforce the collusion rules, the program instructions further cause the system to at least one of:

detect cheating or collusion in the selected interactive electronic game based on a review of the play of the selected interactive electronic game; and

disable one or more operations of the system using electronic countermeasures.

20. One or more non-transitory computer readable media having stored thereon program instructions which, when executed by at least one processor of a system, direct the system to:

store, in a memory storage device of the system, system data of the system;

receive, using a communications interface of the system, data representative of a listing of at least one interactive electronic game from a gaming platform positioned remotely from the system to host the at least one interactive electronic game;

cause the listing to be viewable on an electronic display device of the system;

receive, via the electronic display device, objectives for winning for a selection of one of the at least one interactive electronic game;

determine a collusion avoidance policy for the selected interactive electronic game according to the system data;

adjust a skill level of the selected interactive electronic game according to the objectives;

initiate play for the selected interactive electronic game;

monitor player action within, and changes to the system data during, play of the selected interactive electronic game; and

enforce collusion rules for the selected interactive electronic game according to the collusion avoidance policy.
