Abstract

Example apparatus disclosed herein are to cause meter software to be provided to a compute device, the meter software executable by the compute device to monitor use of the compute device associated with presentation of media. Disclosed example solutions are also to collect demographic data of a user associated with the compute device, the demographic data collected from a source different from the compute device. Disclosed example solutions are further to obtain meter data from the compute device, the meter data generated by the meter software, and associate the meter data with the demographic data.

Claims (33)

1. An apparatus comprising:

memory;

computer readable instructions; and

at least one processor to execute the computer readable instructions to at least:

cause meter software to be provided to a compute device, the meter software executable by the compute device to monitor use of the compute device in association with a presentation of media, the at least one processor to cause the meter software to be provided to the compute device by causing a message to be sent to the compute device, and conditioning download of the meter software to the compute device on receipt of a response to the message;

obtain demographic data of a user associated with the compute device, the demographic data from a source different from the compute device;

obtain meter data from the compute device, the meter data generated by the meter software; and

associate the meter data with the demographic data.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is to associate an identifier with the compute device.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the meter software is executable by the compute device to monitor use of the compute device to present the media.

4. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the meter software is executable by the compute device to monitor use of the compute device to access the media.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the media includes a television program.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the compute device is a mobile device.

7. At least one storage device comprising computer readable instructions that, when executed, cause at least one processor to at least:

cause meter software to be provided to a first compute device, the meter software executable by the first compute device to monitor media presentation related activities of the first compute device, wherein the instructions are to cause the at least one processor to cause the meter software to be provided to the compute device by causing a message to be sent to the compute device, and conditioning download of the meter software to the compute device on receipt of a response to the message;

obtain demographic data of a user associated with the first compute device, the demographic data from a second compute device different from the first compute device;

obtain meter data from the first compute device, the meter data generated by the meter software; and

associate the meter data with the demographic data.

8. The at least one storage device of claim 7 , wherein the instructions are to cause the at least one processor to associate an identifier with the first compute device.

9. The at least one storage device of claim 7 , wherein the media presentation related activities include use of the compute device to at least one of access media or present the media.

10. The at least one storage device of claim 9 , wherein the media includes a television program.

11. The at least one storage device of claim 7 , wherein the second compute device is a networked device at a location different from the first compute device.

12. The at least one storage device of claim 7 , wherein the compute device is a mobile device.

13. A method comprising:

providing meter software to a compute device, the meter software executable by the compute device to monitor use of the compute device in association with a presentation of media, wherein the providing of the meter software to the compute device includes sending a message to the compute device, and conditioning download of the meter software to the compute device on receipt of a response to the message;

obtaining, by executing an instruction with a processor, demographic data of a user associated with the compute device, the demographic data from a source different from the compute device;

receiving meter data from the compute device, the meter data generated by the meter software; and

associating, by executing an instruction with the processor, the meter data with the demographic data.

14. The method of claim 13 , further including associating an identifier with the compute device.

15. The method of claim 13 , wherein the meter software is executable by the compute device to monitor use of the compute device to present the media.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the meter software is executable by the compute device to monitor use of the compute device to access the media.

17. The method of claim 13 , wherein the media includes a television program.

18. The method of claim 13 , wherein the compute device is a mobile device.
