Abstract

A composition of at least one cannabinoid in a specific amount, and at least one primary terpene in a specific amount, where a total terpenes to total cannabinoids weight/weight ratio in the composition is from about 0.05 to about 1.0.

Claims (21)

1. A composition comprising:

(i) at least one cannabinoid in a specific amount, and

(ii) at least one primary terpene in a specific amount, wherein said primary terpene is a monoterpene and forms at least 20% by weight of the total amount of terpenes in the product, or wherein said at least one primary terpene comprises at least two monoterpenes, each of which form at least 15% by weight of the total amount of terpenes in the product,

wherein a total terpenes to total cannabinoids weight/weight ratio in the composition is from about 0.06 to about 1.0, and

wherein the composition is provided in a form selected from the group consisting of tablets, gel capsules, sublingual oils, edibles, nasal preparations, suppositories, tampons, rectal candles, cigarettes and vaporizer liquids.

2. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising at least 5% by weight of a non-cannabinoid, non-terpene carrier.

3. The composition of claim 2 , wherein said non-cannabinoid, non-terpene carrier comprises cellulose at a concentration of at least 5% by weight of the carrier, wherein said product comprises at least 50% cannabis buds and said total terpenes to total cannabinoids weight/weight ratio in the composition is from about 0.1 to about 1.0.

4. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said at least one cannabinoid is a synthetic cannabinoid selected from the group consisting of THCa (tetrahydrocannabiniolic acid), THC (tetrahydrocannabiniol), CBDa (cannabidiolic acid), CBD (cannabidiol), CBGa (cannabigerolic acid), CBG (cannabigerol), CBNa (Cannabinolic acid), CBN (cannabinol), CBCa (cannabichromenic acid), CBC (Cannabichromene), CBLa (Cannabicycol acid), CBL (Cannabicyclol), THCVa (tetrahydrocannabivarin acid), THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin), CBDVa (cannabigerovarin acid) and CBDV (cannabidivarin).

5. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said at least one primary terpene is a synthetic primary terpene.

6. The composition of claim 1 , produced by a method selected from the group consisting of extraction with an extractant, steam stripping, evaporation, distillation, adsorption chromatographic separation and combinations thereof.

7. The composition of claim 1 , produced by a method other than extraction of a cannabis plant with an extractant.

8. The composition of claim 1 , wherein at least about 50% of said at least one cannabinoid is present in an acid form.

9. The composition of claim 1 , wherein at least 80% of said at least one cannabinoid is in a neutral form.

10. The composition of claim 9 , wherein said neutral form is produced by decarboxylation comprising heating an acid form of said cannabinoid to a temperature of at least 80° C.

11. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising an additional active ingredient.

12. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a herbal extract.

13. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said monoterpene forms at least 30% by weight of a total amount of terpenes in the product.

14. The composition of claim 4 , wherein said synthetic cannabinoid is a chemically synthesized cannabinoid.

15. The composition of claim 4 , wherein said synthetic cannabinoid is a biochemically synthesized cannabinoid.

16. The composition of claim 15 , wherein said biochemically synthesized cannabinoid is synthesized in bacteria.

17. The composition of claim 15 , wherein said biochemically synthesized cannabinoid is synthesized in yeast.
