Abstract

Transaction authorization systems may include a transaction processor and an authorization server system. The transaction processor obtains transaction requests authorizations for those requests from the authorization server system. The transaction processor may require an authorization be provided within a threshold time; otherwise, the transaction may be processed without authorization. The authorization server system may be hosted using one or more nodes in a distributed system. Degradation of the performance of the distributed system may cause the performance of the authorization server system to fall below the required performance threshold and transactions may not be authorized before automatic processing. Transaction authorization systems may monitor the health of the individual nodes and/or the distributed system and automatically adjust the routing of authorizations based on current and/or future performance degradation. The transaction authorization system may also allocate additional resources and/or reroute authorizations to a separate distributed system to avoid performance degradations.

total thread count, or

power usage.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the determining resource utilization is further based on performance over a period of time.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the determining resource utilization is further based on performance of a quantity of nodes hosted by a distributed system hosting the processing node and the other processing nodes.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the determining the health parameter of the processing node further comprises calculating, via one or more machine classifiers configured to generate a probabilistic likelihood of the health parameter of the processing node, the health parameter.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the determining the health parameter of the processing node further comprises determining a future health of the processing node.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the response time of the processing node is determined based on an amount of time to produce an authorization result in response to an authorization request.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the response time of the processing node is based on at least one of:

a latency between receiving the authorization request and beginning processing of the authorization request; or

a latency between receiving the authorization request and finishing processing of the authorization request.

12. A computing device, comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:

determine, based on a response time of a processing node and based on response times of other processing nodes, a network performance, wherein the processing node was selected, based on a routing authorization, to receive a processing request;

determine, based on the response time of the processing node, a health parameter associated with the processing node;

modify, based on the system performance data and to reroute future processing requests to avoid the processing node, the routing authorization.

13. The computing device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions to determine the network performance, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the computing device to determine the network performance based on a response time of a distributed system hosting the processing node and the other processing nodes.

14. The computing device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions to determine the network performance, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the computing device to determine the network performance based on a statistical trend of network performance.

15. The computing device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions to determine the network performance, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the computing device to determine, based on previous response times of the processing node and the other processing nodes, a statistical trend of network performance.

16. The computing device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the computing device to determine, based on the network performance and per processing node, a resource utilization of one or more of:

processor usage,

memory usage,

disk usage,

total thread count, or

power usage.

17. The computing device of claim 16 , wherein the instructions to determine the network performance, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the computing device to determine the resource utilization based on performance over a period of time.
