Abstract

According to one embodiment, there is provided a memory card including a first surface, a second surface, and 1 st to N th terminal groups. The first surface includes first to N th rows, where N is an integer of two or greater. The second surface faces the opposite side from the first surface. The 1 st to N th terminal groups are placed in the first to N th rows. The 1 st terminal group includes terminals to which differential clock signals are assigned, terminals to which single-ended signals are assigned, and a terminal to which a first power supply voltage is assigned. K th terminal group, where K is an integer no smaller than two and no greater than N, includes terminals to which differential data signals are assigned.

Claims (44)

1. A memory card comprising:

a first row of a first terminal group including three or more terminals; and

a second row of a second terminal group including three or more terminals, the second row extending in a direction parallel to a direction of the first row, wherein

the first terminal group includes:

a plurality of differential data terminals to communicate differential data signals, and

a plurality of ground terminals connected to a ground potential,

the plurality of differential data terminals includes a pair of differential data terminals arranged adjacent to each other,

the pair of differential data terminals includes

a pair of differential data terminals to transmit differential signals, and

a pair of differential data terminals to receive differential signals,

the plurality of ground terminals includes a first ground terminal, a second ground terminal, and a third ground terminal,

the pair of differential data terminals to transmit is placed between the first ground terminal and the second ground terminal, and

the pair of differential data terminals to receive is placed between the second ground terminal and the third ground terminal.

2. The memory card according to claim 1 , wherein

the differential data signals are compliant with a Peripheral Component Interconnect express (PCIe) standard.

3. The memory card according to claim 2 , further comprising:

a controller, wherein

the controller includes a physical interface layer with a transmitter and a receiver.

4. The memory card according to claim 3 , further comprising:

a NAND flash memory; and

a memory interface circuit, wherein

the controller is coupled to the NAND flash memory via the memory interface circuit.

5. The memory card according to claim 4 , wherein

a thickness of the memory card is in a range of 1.30 mm to 1.50 mm.

6. The memory card according to claim 1 , wherein

the second terminal group includes a plurality of ground terminals connected to a ground potential.

7. The memory card according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a third row of a third terminal group including three or more terminals, the third row extending in the direction parallel to a direction of the first row.

8. The memory card according to claim 7 , wherein

the third terminal group includes a plurality of ground terminals connected to a ground potential.

9. The memory card according to claim 8 , wherein

the third terminal group includes a power supply terminal assigned to a power supply.

10. The memory card according to claim 9 , further comprising a regulator,

wherein a power supply voltage supplied to the power supply terminal is supplied to the regulator.

11. The memory card according to claim 10 , wherein

the power supply voltage supplied to the regulator is supplied to a physical interface layer.

12. The memory card according to claim 11 , wherein

the power supply voltage supplied to the regulator is converted into a power supply voltage for operating the physical interface layer, and

the converted power supply voltage is supplied to the physical interface layer.

13. The memory card according to claim 9 , wherein

the memory card is connectable to a host.

14. The memory card according to claim 13 , wherein

the host is configured to supply a power supply voltage to the memory card through the power supply terminal, and

the power supply voltage is supplied to a regulator and is converted into a power supply voltage for operating a physical interface layer.
