Abstract

A wireless device receives one or more messages including configuration parameters, for transmission configuration indicator (TCI) indication, of a first control resource set (coreset) and a second coreset. The wireless device receives, via the first coreset and based on a first TCI state, a first control command indicating a second TCI state. In response to the receiving the first control command: downlink transport blocks are received via a downlink shared channel and based on the second TCI state, a first downlink control channel is received via the first coreset and based on the first TCI state; and a second downlink control channel is received via the second coreset and based on the second TCI state.

Claims (68)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, one or more messages comprising configuration parameters of:

a first control resource set (coreset) associated with at least one common search space (CSS) set; and

a second coreset associated with at least one user equipment (UE)-specific search space (USS) set;

receiving a first control command indicating a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state for the first coreset;

receiving a second control command indicating a second TCI state for downlink channels or both uplink and downlink channels;

in response to the first coreset being associated with at least one CSS set, receiving first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) receptions via the first coreset based on the first TCI state; and

in response to the second coreset being associated with at least one USS set, receiving second PDCCH receptions via the second coreset based on the second TCI state.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first coreset is associated with a first coreset pool index different from a second coreset pool index of the second coreset.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising applying, in response to the receiving the second control command, the second TCI state for transmitting:

an uplink control information (UCI) via an uplink control channel; or

uplink data via an uplink shared channel.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages indicate:

a first group of coresets comprising the first coreset; and

a second group of coresets comprising the second coreset.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising:

determining, in response to the receiving the second control command and based on the second coreset being in the second group of coresets, to apply the second TCI state to the second coreset.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages indicate a group of coresets comprising the first coreset and the second coreset.

7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

determining, in response to the receiving the second control command and based on the first coreset and the second coreset being in the same group of coresets, to apply the second TCI state to the second coreset.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second TCI state is a joint TCI state, associated with at least one source reference signal (RS), for both downlink reception and uplink transmission.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the at least one source RS provides a reference for determining a common uplink Tx spatial (domain) filter(s) at least for transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and one or more physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources in a serving cell.

10. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive one or more messages comprising configuration parameters of:

a first control resource set (coreset) associated with at least one common search space (CSS) set; and

a second coreset associated with at least one user equipment (UE)-specific search space (USS) set;

receive a first control command indicating a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state for the first coreset;

receive a second control command indicating a second TCI state for downlink channels or both uplink and downlink channels;

in response to the first coreset being associated with at least one CSS set, receive, first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) receptions via the first coreset based on the first TCI state; and

in response to the second coreset being associated with at least one USS set, receive second PDCCH receptions via the second coreset based on the second TCI state.

11. The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the first coreset is associated with a first coreset pool index different from a second coreset pool index of the second coreset.

12. The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to apply, in response to the receiving the second control command, the second TCI state for transmitting:

an uplink control information (UCI) via an uplink control channel; or

uplink data via an uplink shared channel.

13. The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the one or more messages indicate:

a first group of coresets comprising the first coreset; and

a second group of coresets comprising the second coreset.

14. The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to:

determine, in response to the receiving the second control command and based on the second coreset being in the second group of coresets, to apply the second TCI state to the second coreset.

15. The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the one or more messages indicate a group of coresets comprising the first coreset and the second coreset.

16. The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to:

determine, in response to the receiving the second control command and based on the first coreset and the second coreset being in the same group of coresets, to apply the second TCI state to the second coreset.

17. The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the second TCI state is a joint TCI state, associated with at least one source reference signal (RS), for both downlink reception and uplink transmission.

18. A system comprising:

a base station comprising:

one or more first processors; and

first memory storing first instructions, that when executed by the one or more first processors, cause the base station to:

transmit one or more messages comprising configuration parameters of:

a first control resource set (coreset) associated with at least one common search space (CSS) set; and

a second coreset associated with at least one user equipment (UE)-specific search space (USS) set; and

transmit a first control command indicating a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state for the first coreset;

transmit a second control command indicating a second TCI state for downlink channels or both uplink and downlink channels; and

a wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

second memory storing second instructions, that when executed by the one or more second processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive the one or more messages comprising the configuration parameters;

receive the first control command;

receive the second control command;

in response to the first coreset being associated with at least one CSS set, receive first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) receptions via the first coreset based on the first TCI state; and

in response to the second coreset being associated with at least one USS set, receive second PDCCH receptions via the second coreset based on the second TCI state.

19. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the first control command is a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating activation of the first TCI state and the second TCI state; and

the second control command is a downlink control information (DCI).

20. The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein:

the first control command is a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating activation of the first TCI state and the second TCI state; and

the second control command is a downlink control information (DCI).
