Abstract

In a wireless local area network (LAN) system, a sharing access point (AP) may transmit a first selection frame to a first shared AP and transmit a second selection frame to a second shared AP on the basis of information relating to channels between a reception station (STA) and the first shared AP and between the reception STA and the second shared AP. The sharing AP may receive a first selection response frame from the first shared AP. The sharing AP may determine to use the first shared AP in multi-AP transmission on the basis of the first selection response frame.

Claims (35)

1. A method performed in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, the method performed by a sharing access point (AP) and comprising:

based on information related to a channel between first and second shared APs and a receiving station (STA), transmitting a first selection frame to the first shared AP and a second selection frame to the second shared AP;

receiving a first selection response frame from the first shared AP; and

determining to use the first shared AP for a multi-AP transmission based on the first selection response frame,

wherein the first selection frame includes data to be transmitted by the first shared AP to the receiving STA, and the second selection frame includes data to be transmitted by the second shared AP to the receiving STA.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

obtaining, by the sharing AP, information related to a channel between the sharing AP and the first shared AP, a channel between the sharing AP and the second shared AP, and a channel between the sharing AP and a third shared AP.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining not to transmit data by the second shared AP if the sharing AP does not receive a second selection response frame within a preset time from the second shared AP.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting, by the sharing AP, a third selection frame to a third shared AP;

receiving, by the sharing AP, a second selection response frame from the third shared AP; and

determining, by the sharing AP, to transmit data by the third shared AP based on the second selection response frame.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first selection frame includes resource allocation information for transmitting the first selection response frame, and the second selection frame includes resource allocation information for transmitting the second selection response frame.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first selection response frame includes information related to a buffer state of the first shared AP and an available frequency bandwidth of the first shared AP, and further comprising:

allocating, by the sharing AP, a channel or resource unit (RU) through which the first shared AP transmits data to the receiving STA based on at least one of information related to the buffer state and the available frequency bandwidth.

7. A sharing access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, the sharing AP comprising:

a transceiver transmitting and receiving a wireless signal; and

a processor coupled to the transceiver,

wherein the processor is configured for:

based on information related to a channel between first and second shared APs and a receiving station (STA), transmitting a first selection frame to the first shared AP and a second selection frame to the second shared AP;

receiving a first selection response frame from the first shared AP; and

determining to use the first shared AP for a multi-AP transmission based on the first selection response frame,

wherein the first selection frame includes data to be transmitted by the first shared AP to the receiving STA, and the second selection frame includes data to be transmitted by the second shared AP to the receiving STA.

8. The sharing AP of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured for:

obtaining information related to a channel between the sharing AP and the first shared AP, a channel between the sharing AP and the second shared AP, and a channel between the sharing AP and a third shared AP.

9. The sharing AP of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured for:

determining not to transmit data by the second shared AP if the sharing AP does not receive a second selection response frame within a preset time from the second shared AP.

10. The sharing AP of claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured for:

transmitting a third selection frame to a third shared AP;

receiving a second selection response frame from the third shared AP; and

determining to transmit data by the third shared AP based on the second selection response frame.

11. The sharing AP of claim 7 , wherein the first selection frame includes resource allocation information for transmitting the first selection response frame, and the second selection frame includes resource allocation information for transmitting the second selection response frame.

12. The sharing AP of claim 7 , wherein the first selection response frame includes information related to a buffer state of the first shared AP and an available frequency bandwidth of the first shared AP, wherein the processor is further configured for:

allocating a channel or resource unit (RU) through which the first shared AP transmits data to the receiving STA based on at least one of information related to the buffer state and the available frequency bandwidth.
