Abstract

A system and method may be provided for associating bio-signal data (e.g. EEG brain scan data) from at least one user with at least one music data item (e.g. song, or piece of music). By associating bio-signal data, or emotions determined therefrom, with music, the system may establish a data store of music associated with emotions. That database may then be leveraged upon determining that a user is feeling a particular emotion through an EEG scan. When a particular emotion is detected in EEG data of a user, the system may then respond based at least partly on the same or similar emotion being associated with one or more music data items in the system. For example, the system may recommend a particular song associated with the same emotion presently being experienced by the user.

Claims (21)

1. A computer-implemented method for sharing a user experience, comprising:

receiving bio-signal data for a plurality of users from a plurality of bio-signal sensors;

receiving sound data representing sound experienced by each of the users;

determining a physiological state of each of the users based at least in part on the bio-signal data of that user;

determining an environmental state associated with each of the users based at least in part on the sound data;

using a rules engine, determining if a condition is met, based at least in part on the physiological state of each of the users and the environmental state associated with each user;

upon the condition being met, executing an associated action including generating a sensory signal; and

using transducers, outputting a sensory output to each of the users based on the sensory signal.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

detecting an EEG response based on the bio-signal data; and

correlating a time of the EEG response to the sound data to compute a segment of sound data corresponding to the EEG response,

wherein the sensory signal comprises an audio signal, the audio signal based at least in part on the EEG response and the corresponding segment of sound data.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sound data is received from an acoustic sensor proximate one or more of the users.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the bio-signal data includes at least one of brain metrics, heart metrics, or breath metrics.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sensory output includes at least one of light, sound, tactile pressure, tactile vibration, or scent.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving image data from one or more image sensors proximate one or more of the users, wherein the determining the environmental state associated with each of the users is based at least in part on the image data.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving image data from one or more image sensors proximate one or more of the users, wherein the physiological state associated with each of the users is based at least in part on the image data.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving tactile signals from one or more tactile transducers proximate one or more of the users, wherein the determining the physiological state associated with each of the users is based at least in part on the tactile signals.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sensory output to each of the users is individualized to each user based at least in part on a user profile of that user.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the associated action executed by the rules engine is based on machine learning.

11. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer executable instructions stored thereon for execution by one or more computing devices, that when executed perform the method of claim 1 .
