Abstract

A sound control device mounted in a vehicle and control method include measuring a drive signal input to a speaker, wherein the drive signal is generated in response to an input signal including at least one of a noise control signal and an audio signal, estimating a state of a voice coil of the speaker including at least one of displacement and temperature of the voice coil, based on the drive signal and a model of the speaker, and adjusting the input signal based on the state of the voice coil.

Claims (45)

1. A computer-implemented method for controlling a input signal of a speaker in a vehicle, the method comprising:

measuring a drive signal input to the speaker, wherein the drive signal is generated in response to the input signal including at least one of a noise control signal and an audio signal;

estimating a state of a voice coil of the speaker including at least one of displacement and temperature of the voice coil, based on the drive signal and a model of the speaker; and

adjusting the input signal based on the state of the voice coil.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting of the input signal includes:

estimating a center of the displacement of the voice coil; and

adjusting the input signal to decrease a distance between the center of the displacement of the voice coil and a preset center position when the center of the displacement of the voice coil is biased from the preset center position, using the model of the speaker.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting of the input signal includes:

limiting a magnitude of the input signal based on a preset maximum displacement of the voice coil.

4. The method of claim 3 , further including:

when the displacement of the voice coil estimated in response to the input signal exceeds the maximum displacement, clipping the input signal based on the magnitude of the input signal corresponding to the maximum displacement.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting of the input signal includes:

adjusting the input signal to compensate for non-linearity of the voice coil depending on the temperature of the voice coil.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the adjusting of the input signal includes:

attenuating the input signal according to an increase in the temperature of the voice coil; and

amplifying the input signal according to a decrease in the temperature of the voice coil.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting of the input signal includes:

adjusting a magnitude of each frequency component of the input signal.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the adjusting of a magnitude of each frequency component of the input signal includes:

reducing a magnitude of a low-frequency component of the input signal more than a magnitude of a high-frequency component.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting of the input signal includes:

adjusting a magnitude of the noise control signal among the noise control signal and the audio signal.

10. A sound control apparatus mounted in a vehicle, the sound control apparatus comprising:

at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions; and

at least one processor,

wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:

receive an input signal including at least one of a noise control signal and an audio signal;

measure a drive signal input to a speaker, wherein the drive signal is generated in response to the input signal; and

estimate a state of a voice coil of the speaker including at least one of displacement and temperature of the voice coil, based on the drive signal and a model of the speaker; and

adjust the input signal based on the state of the voice coil.

11. The sound control apparatus of claim 10 ,

wherein the at least one processor is configured to;

estimate a center of the displacement of the voice coil; and

adjust the input signal to decrease a distance between the center of the displacement of the voice coil and a preset center position when the center of the displacement of the voice coil is biased from the preset center position, using the model of the speaker.

12. The sound control apparatus of claim 10 , wherein in adjusting the input signal based on the state of the voice coil, the at least one processor is configured to limit a magnitude of the input signal based on a preset maximum displacement of the voice coil.

13. The sound control apparatus of claim 12 , wherein in adjusting the input signal based on the state of the voice coil, the at least one processor is configured to:

conclude that the displacement of the voice coil estimated in response to the input signal exceeds the maximum displacement; and

clip the input signal based on the magnitude of the input signal corresponding to the maximum displacement.

14. The sound control apparatus of claim 10 , wherein

in adjusting the input signal based on the state of the voice coil, the at least one processor is configured to adjust the input signal to compensate for non-linearity of the voice coil depending on the temperature of the voice coil.

15. The sound control apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to attenuate the input signal according to an increase in the temperature of the voice coil and amplify the input signal according to a decrease in the temperature of the voice coil.

16. The sound control apparatus of claim 10 , wherein in adjusting the input signal based on the state of the voice coil, the at least one processor is configured to adjust a magnitude of each frequency component of the input signal.

17. The sound control apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the adjusting of a magnitude of each frequency component of the input signal includes:

reducing a magnitude of a low-frequency component of the input signal more than a magnitude of a high-frequency component.

18. The sound control device method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to adjust a magnitude of the noise control signal among the noise control signal and the audio signal.
