Systems and methods for adaptation in a wireless network
An embodiment method of network node operation includes indicating, by a first network node, to a first UE, a first number of REs in a first set of RBs for a first reference signal, transmitting, by the first network node, to the first UE, the first reference signal in accordance with the first number of REs and a first precoding in a first subframe, receiving, by the first network node, from the first UE, a report indicating a first MCS in accordance with a level of signal and interference measured by the first UE, wherein the measurement is restricted to the first reference signal, and transmitting, by the first network node, a first data with the indicated first MCS and the first precoding in a second subframe, the first data being transmitted on a second number of REs in the first set of RBs in the second subframe.
1. A method comprising:
receiving, by a user equipment (UE), reference signals on first at least one reference signal (RS) resource; and
transmitting, by the UE to a network device, a report, the report including at least one of a channel quality information (CQI) or a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), the at least one of the CQI or the SINR based on (1) a channel measurement and (2) an interference measurement for the report, wherein the channel measurement is on the first at least one RS resource, and
wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
at least one CSI interference measurement (CSI-IM) resource for the report, or
second at least one RS resource configured for interference measurements for the report, or
wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, by the UE, a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the channel measurement.
3. The method of claim 2 , the report being based on the channel measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, by the UE, a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the interference measurement.
5. The method of claim 4 , the report being based on the interference measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
the at least one CSI-IM resource, or
the second at least one RS resource.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
8. A method comprising:
transmitting, by a network device to a user equipment (UE), reference signals on first at least one reference signal (RS) resource; and
receiving, by the network device from the UE, a report, the report including at least one of a channel quality information (CQI) or a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), the at least one of the CQI or the SINR based on (1) a channel measurement and (2) an interference measurement for the report, wherein the channel measurement is on the first at least one RS resource, and
wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
at least one CSI interference measurement (CSI-IM) resource for the report, or
second at least one RS resource configured for interference measurements for the report, or
wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
transmitting, by the network device to the UE, a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the channel measurement.
10. The method of claim 9 , the report being based on the channel measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
11. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
transmitting, by the network device to the UE, a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the interference measurement.
12. The method of claim 11 , the report being based on the interference measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
the at least one CSI-IM resource, or
the second at least one RS resource.
14. The method of claim 8 , wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
15. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
based on the report, performing at least one of:
changing transmissions or receptions configurations; or
changing UE association configurations.
16. A user equipment (UE) comprising:
at least one processor; and
a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the UE to perform operations including:
receiving reference signals on first at least one reference signal (RS) resource; and
transmitting, to a network device, a report, the report including at least one of a channel quality information (CQI) or a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), the at least one of the CQI or the SINR based on (1) a channel measurement and (2) an interference measurement for the report, wherein the channel measurement is on the first at least one RS resource, and
wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
at least one CSI interference measurement (CSI-IM) resource for the report, or
second at least one RS resource configured for interference measurements for the report, or
wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
17. The UE of claim 16 , the operations further comprising:
receiving a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the channel measurement.
18. The UE of claim 17 , the report being based on the channel measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
19. The UE of claim 16 , the operations further comprising:
receiving, by the UE, a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the interference measurement.
20. The UE of claim 19 , the report being based on the interference measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
21. The UE of claim 16 , wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
the at least one CSI-IM resource, or
the second at least one RS resource.
22. The UE of claim 16 , wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
23. A network device comprising:
at least one processor; and
a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the network device to perform operations including:
transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), reference signals on first at least one reference signal (RS) resource; and
receiving, from the UE, a report, the report including at least one of a channel quality information (CQI) or a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), the at least one of the CQI or the SINR based on (1) a channel measurement and (2) an interference measurement for the report, wherein the channel measurement is on the first at least one RS resource, and
wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
at least one CSI interference measurement (CSI-IM) resource for the report, or
second at least one RS resource configured for interference measurements for the report, or
wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
24. The network device of claim 23 , the operations further comprising:
transmitting, by to the UE, a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the channel measurement.
25. The network device of claim 24 , the report being based on the channel measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
26. The network device of claim 23 , the operations further comprising:
transmitting, to the UE, a configuration of measurement restriction in a time domain associated with the interference measurement.
27. The network device of claim 26 , the report being based on the interference measurement on only a fixed amount of time up to and including a CSI reference resource.
28. The network device of claim 23 , wherein the interference measurement is on at least one of:
the at least one CSI-IM resource, or
the second at least one RS resource.
29. The network device of claim 23 , wherein the at least one of the CQI or the SINR includes the SINR, and the interference measurement is on the first at least one RS resource.
30. The network device of claim 23 , the operations further comprising:
based on the report, performing at least one of:
changing transmissions or receptions configurations; or
changing UE association configurations.
31. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first at least one RS resource includes first at least one non-zero-power (NZP) channel state information (CSI) RS (CSI-RS) (NZP CSI-RS) resource, and wherein the second at least one RS resource includes second at least one NZP CSI-RS resource.
32. The method of claim 8 , wherein the first at least one RS resource includes first at least one non-zero-power (NZP) channel state information (CSI) RS (CSI-RS) (NZP CSI-RS) resource, and wherein the second at least one RS resource includes second at least one NZP CSI-RS resource.
33. The UE of claim 16 , wherein the first at least one RS resource includes first at least one non-zero-power (NZP) channel state information (CSI) RS (CSI-RS) (NZP CSI-RS) resource, and wherein the second at least one RS resource includes second at least one NZP CSI-RS resource.
34. The network device of claim 23 , wherein the first at least one RS resource includes first at least one non-zero-power (NZP) channel state information (CSI) RS (CSI-RS) (NZP CSI-RS) resource, and wherein the second at least one RS resource includes second at least one NZP CSI-RS resource.
