Abstract

A shovel includes a lower travel body, an upper swivel body that is swingably installed on the lower travel body, an attachment that is installed on the upper swivel body, and a posture detecting device that detects a posture of the attachment, wherein a virtual plane is generated by utilizing information about a position of a predetermined portion of the attachment obtained from an output of the posture detecting device.

Claims (40)

1. A shovel comprising:

a lower travel body;

an upper swivel body that is swingably installed on the lower travel body;

an attachment that is installed on the upper swivel body;

a posture detecting device that detects a posture of the attachment; and

a hardware processor configured to

generate a virtual plane in an area surrounding the shovel by utilizing information about a position of a predetermined portion of the attachment obtained from an output of the posture detecting device, and

control the shovel such that the shovel is prevented from crossing the virtual plane from one side of the virtual plane on which side the shovel is located to an opposite side of the virtual plane from the shovel.

2. The shovel according to claim 1 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to generate the virtual plane is based on three different positions of the predetermined portion.

3. The shovel according to claim 1 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to display the virtual plane on a screen of a display device.

4. The shovel according to claim 1 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to change the information about the virtual plane in response to a touching operation on a display device.

5. The shovel according to claim 1 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to use the virtual plane to define an entry-prohibited region.

6. The shovel according to claim 5 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to slow or stop the attachment or prevent the attachment from entering the entry-prohibited region in response to determining that the attachment approaches the entry-prohibited region.

7. The shovel according to claim 1 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to generate the virtual plane using a local coordinate system based on a standard position that is set in a work site.

8. The shovel according to claim 7 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to slow or stop the attachment or prevent the attachment from entering an entry-prohibited region in response to determining that the attachment approaches the entry-prohibited region, the entry-prohibited region being set by the virtual plane based on the local coordinate system.

9. The shovel according to claim 7 ,

wherein the standard position is a plurality of standard positions and is set in the work site.

10. The shovel according to claim 1 , further comprising:

an object detection device that detects an obstacle,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to incorporate obstacle information of an obstacle into a construction plan drawing.

11. The shovel according to claim 1 , wherein

the attachment includes a boom, an arm, and an end attachment as an excavation attachment, the boom being attached to the upper swivel body and rotatably supported relative to the upper swivel body, the arm being attached to an end of the boom and rotatably supported relative to the boom, the end attachment being attached to an end of the arm and rotatably supported relative to the arm.

12. The shovel according to claim 11 , wherein the hardware processor is configured to generate the virtual plane based on three different positions of the predetermined portion of the excavation attachment.

13. A display device for a shovel including a lower travel body, an upper swivel body that is swingably installed on the lower travel body, an attachment that is installed on the upper swivel body, a posture detecting device that detects a posture of the attachment, and a hardware processor configured to generate a virtual plane in an area surrounding the shovel by utilizing information about a position of a predetermined portion of the attachment obtained from an output of the posture detecting device, the display device comprising:

a screen that displays an image of the virtual plane over a captured image obtained by using an image capturing device, the virtual plane being generated such that the shovel is controlled to be prevented from crossing the virtual plane from one side of the virtual plane on which side the shovel is located to an opposite side of the virtual plane from the shovel.

14. The display device according to claim 13 ,

wherein the screen is configured to receive a touching operation to change the information about the virtual plane.

15. A control device for a shovel including a lower travel body, an upper swivel body that is swingably installed on the lower travel body, an attachment that is installed on the upper swivel body, and a posture detecting device that detects a posture of the attachment, the control device comprising:

a hardware processor configured to

generate a virtual plane in an area surrounding the shovel by utilizing information about a position of a predetermined portion of the attachment obtained from an output of the posture detecting device, and

control the shovel such that the shovel is prevented from crossing the virtual plane from one side of the virtual plane on which side the shovel is located to an opposite side of the virtual plane from the shovel.

16. The control device of the shovel according to claim 15 ,

wherein the hardware processor is configured to generate the virtual plane based on three different positions of the predetermined portion.
