Abstract

A holder apparatus for holding a conduit and/or patient interface such as a cannula, has a mount 251 to couple with a breathing assistance apparatus 10 and at least one mechanical feature 237 a, 237 b for holding the conduit and/or patient interface such as a cannula in place relative to the breathing assistance apparatus.

Claims (27)

1. A holder apparatus for holding a conduit and/or a patient interface, the holder apparatus comprising:

a mount comprising a receptacle to releasably mount to a tongue on a side of a breathing assistance apparatus; and

at least one mechanical feature for holding the conduit and/or the patient interface in place relative to the breathing assistance apparatus, wherein the holder apparatus is upstanding and does not project below the mount.

2. The holder apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the holder apparatus comprises an upstanding holder, wherein said at least one mechanical feature is located on the upstanding holder, the at least one mechanical feature for holding the conduit and/or the patient interface, and wherein the at least one mechanical feature has a shape that is complementary to a shape of the conduit and/or the patient interface.

3. The holder apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the at least one mechanical feature comprises one or more of: a recess or groove; a clip; a hinge mechanism; a compliant sling or strap; a hook and loop fastener.

4. The holder apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one mechanical feature comprises a plurality of the at least one mechanical feature, and wherein the plurality of the at least one mechanical feature is configured to hold the conduit and/or the patient interface.

5. The holder apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the holder apparatus is upstanding and is configured such that the at least one mechanical feature is located higher than the breathing assistance apparatus or at or adjacent a top of the breathing assistance apparatus, when the mount is coupled with the breathing assistance apparatus.

6. The holder apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein a portion of the holder apparatus is upstanding and is configured such that a power cord can be wrapped around the portion between the portion and the breathing assistance apparatus.

7. The holder apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an additional mechanical feature for holding a liquid bag.

8. The holder apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the additional mechanical feature is positioned vertically higher than the at least one mechanical feature for holding the conduit and/or the patient interface.

9. The holder apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the holder apparatus is positioned on a support surface, and wherein the conduit and/or the patient interface is/are held above the support surface by the holder apparatus.

10. The holder apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the mount comprises at least two walls configured to constrain movement of the breathing assistance apparatus.

11. The holder apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the at least two walls are two spaced apart side walls that define a slot therebetween.

12. The holder apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the mount comprises a receptacle configured to receive a portion of the breathing assistance apparatus.

13. A support apparatus for a breathing assistance apparatus comprising:

a stand;

a holder, wherein the holder comprises at least one mechanical feature for holding a conduit and/or a cannula of the breathing assistance apparatus in place; and

a dual mount located on the holder, the dual mount comprising an upper mount and a lower mount, wherein the upper mount releasably couples the holder to the breathing assistance apparatus and the lower mount releasably couples the holder to the stand, wherein the upper mount is positioned above the lower mount,

wherein the stand is configured to support the holder in an upstanding configuration, and

wherein the stand and/or the holder is/are configured to support the breathing assistance apparatus.

14. The support apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the holder extends upwardly from a periphery of the stand.

15. The support apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the stand comprises a base and an upstand, wherein the upstand is configured to couple with the upper mount.

16. The support apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein a position of the dual mount on the holder is such that an underside of the breathing assistance apparatus is configured to be positioned with a spacing above a top surface of a base of the stand, when the breathing assistance apparatus is coupled with the support apparatus.

17. The support apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the at least one mechanical feature comprises a plurality of mechanical features for holding a conduit and a cannula.

18. The support apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the at least one mechanical feature is positioned on the holder such that the conduit and/or cannula is/are held above a support surface when held by the at least one mechanical feature.

19. The support apparatus according to claim 13 , further comprising an additional mechanical feature for holding a liquid bag.

20. The support apparatus according to claim 19 , wherein the additional mechanical feature is positioned vertically higher than the at least one mechanical feature for holding the conduit and/or the cannula.
