Abstract

A fluoropropene composition comprising E-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, 1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene, and 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, wherein the total amount of 1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene and 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene is 1.0 wt. % or less, based on the total weight of the fluoropropene composition. A method of producing the fluoropropene, composition and methods for using the fluoropropene composition are also disclosed.

Claims (27)

1. A heat transfer media comprising:

(i) a fluoropropene component comprising at least 75 wt. % E-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze (E)) based on the total weight of the media, Z-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze (Z)), and

(ii) at least one or more members selected from one of difluoromethane (R-32), 1,1-difluoroethane (HFC-152a), 1,1,2,2-tetrafluouroethane (HFC-134), 1,1,1,2-tetrafluouroethane (HFC-134a), 1,1,1,2,2-petfluoropropane (HFC-245cb), or 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1224yd),

wherein the amount of Z-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze (Z)), if present, and the total amount of the at least one or more members (ii) is at most 25 wt. % based on the total weight of the media such that the total amount of the media is 100%.

2. The heat transfer media of claim 1 , wherein one of the at least one or more members is selected from one of R-1224yd and R-134a.

3. The heat transfer media of claim 1 , wherein the at least one or more members comprise R-1224yd and R-134.

4. The heat transfer media of claim 1 , wherein the at least one or more members comprise R-1224yd and R-134a.

5. The heat transfer media of claim 1 , wherein the at least one or more members comprise R-32 and R-152a.

6. The heat transfer media of claim 1 wherein each of the at least one or more members is present in an amount of at least 5 wt. % based on the total weight of the media such that the total amount of the media remains at 100%.

7. The heat transfer media of claim 1 wherein the amount of (i) E-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze (E)) based on the total weight of the media is between 75 wt. % and less than 90 wt. %, and the at least one or more members are present in an amount such that the total amount of the media remains at 100%.

8. The heat transfer media of any of claim 7 , wherein the amount of E-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze (E)) based on the total weight of the media is greater than 80 wt. %.
