Abstract

Systems and methods of timeline visualization that define a table structure which represents supply chain management actions in a generic way. The content of the table is then processed by the timeline visualization to extract the entities, events, their relationships, and their attributes. These entities are transformed into time axes, while the events are transformed into a visual representation of their attributes using color, shapes, and text labels. The events may be positioned on a canvas, above or below a timeline axis, depending on whether they are upstream or downstream events, using a layout module which determines the position on the x-axis (time) and y-axis.

the label mapping accepts one or more attribute columns of the worksheet data, a content of each of the one or more attribute columns displayed on a label associated with a respective event; and

the tooltip mapping accepts one or more item identifiers.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein there are a plurality of timelines, and the computer-implemented method further comprises: displaying, by the processor, vertical stacking of the timelines.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

limiting, by the processor, displacement of events along the second axis based on input by a user;

creating, by the processor, an overflow of one or more hidden events that exceed the displacement.

8. A computing apparatus comprising: a processor; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the computing apparatus to:

apply, by the processor, a set of mappings and one or more settings to a worksheet data, thereby producing a mapped worksheet data;
