Abstract

There is provided a method of encapsulating an encoded bitstream representing one or more images, the encapsulated bitstream comprising a data part and a metadata part. The method comprises: providing image item information identifying a portion of the data part representing a sub-image or an image of a single image and/or a set of single images; providing image description information comprising parameters including display parameters and/or transformation operators relating to one or more images and outputting said bitstream together with said provided information as an encapsulated data file. Said image item information comprises one or more properties including at least part of the image description information dedicated to the considered sub-image or single image or set of single images, said image description information being defined in one or more boxes.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the association information allows associating an index of a property among the at least one property with each identifier of at least two item data structures.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the association information allows associating each index of at least two properties with an identifier of an item data structure.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the media file further includes an “Item Information Box” compliant with the ISOBMFF standard for representing information for each of the at least one item data structure, and

the association information is described in a box different from the predetermined box.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the media file includes metadata of a plurality of item data structures.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the media file includes metadata of a plurality of sub-items corresponding to one item data structure.

7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the media file includes a metadata part and a media data part compliant with the ISOBMFF standard, and

the at least one property and the association information are described in the metadata part.

8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the at least one property includes at least two transformation operators listed in the predetermined box, and

the at least two transformation operators are applied, in order listed in the predetermined box, to an associated item.

9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the at least one item data structure represents an image item or a metadata item.

10. The method according to claim 9 , wherein

the predetermined box includes at least one box with box type “ispe” compliant with the ISOBMFF standard, and

each of at least one box with box type “ispe” includes a property indicating a width and a height of an image-item.

11. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the predetermined box includes at least one box compliant with the ISOBMFF standard and indicating a decoder configuration,

each of at least one box indicating a decoder configuration includes a property indicating a decoder configuration of an item.

12. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the media file is compliant with the ISO/IEC 23008-12 standard.

13. A method for outputting data corresponding to at least one item data structure, based on a media file including metadata described based on a hierarchy of boxes, the method comprising:

obtaining the media file including

(1) at least one property listed in a single predetermined box, and

(2) association information for associating an index of the at least one property indicating an order of the at least one property listed in the predetermined box with at least one identifier of the at least one item data structure; and

outputting data corresponding to the at least one item data structure, based on the obtained media file.

14. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the association information allows associating an index of a property among the at least one property with each identifier of at least two item data structures.

15. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the association information allows associating each index of at least two properties with an identifier of an item data structure.

16. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the media file further includes an “Item Information Box” compliant with the ISOBMFF standard for representing information for each of the at least one item data structure, and

the association information is described in a box different from the predetermined box.

17. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the media file includes metadata of a plurality of item data structures.

18. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the media file includes metadata of a plurality of sub-items corresponding to one item data structure.

19. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the media file includes a metadata part and a media data part compliant with the ISOBMFF standard, and

the at least one property and the association information are described in the metadata part.

20. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the at least one property includes at least two transformation operators listed in the predetermined box, and

the at least two transformation operators are applied, in order listed in the predetermined box, to an associated item.

21. The method according to claim 13 , wherein

the at least one item data structure represents an image item or a metadata item.

22. The method according to claim 21 , wherein

the predetermined box includes at least one box with box type “ispe” compliant with the ISOBMFF standard, and

each of at least one box with box type “ispe” includes a property indicating a width and a height of an item.

23. The method according to claim 21 , wherein

the predetermined box includes at least one box compliant with the ISOBMFF standard and indicating a decoder configuration,

each of at least one box indicating a decoder configuration includes a property indicating a decoder configuration of an item.

24. The method according to claim 1 , wherein
