Abstract

The present invention relates to a wireless communication method and a wireless communication terminal for wideband link setup, and more particularly, a wireless communication method and a wireless communication terminal for increasing data communication efficiency by extending a data transmission bandwidth of a terminal. To this end, provided are a wireless communication method of a terminal, including: obtaining first primary channel information of a basic service set (BSS) with which the terminal is associated; performing clear channel assessment (CCA) for one or more secondary channels of the BSS; and setting a second primary channel among one or more secondary channels determined to be idle based on a result of the CCA, and a wireless communication terminal using the same.

Claims (45)

1. A wireless communication terminal for accessing a plurality of contention-based channels, the terminal comprising:

a processor, and

a memory coupled with the processor,

wherein the processor is configured to:

perform backoff procedure for a plurality of channels,

wherein each of a plurality of backoff counters individually corresponding to a respective channel of the plurality of channels is determined within a contention window, and

wherein an initial value of each of the plurality of backoff counters is set based on a common backoff counter used by the wireless communication terminal for multi-channel access, and

perform multi-channel transmission through the plurality of channels based on the backoff procedure using the plurality of backoff counters,

wherein the multi-channel transmission is performed through the plurality of channels when the plurality of backoff counters are ‘0’, and

wherein a size of the contention window is adjusted depending on whether the multi-channel transmission is successful.

2. The wireless communication terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the size of the contention window is increased when the multi-channel transmission is failed.

3. The wireless communication terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein each of the plurality of backoff counters corresponding to the respective channel is selectively decremented when a channel state for the respective channel among the plurality of channels is idle.

4. The wireless communication terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the initial value of each of the plurality of backoff counters is set to a same value based on the common backoff counter.

5. The wireless communication terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the backoff procedure for the respective channel of the plurality of channels is independently performed based on a corresponding backoff counter among the plurality of backoff counters.

6. The wireless communication terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the backoff procedure for at least one of the plurality of channels is deferred.

7. A wireless communication method of a terminal for accessing a plurality of contention-based channels, the method comprising:

performing backoff procedure for a plurality of channels,

wherein each of a plurality of backoff counters individually corresponding to a respective channel of the plurality of channels is determined within a contention window, and

wherein an initial value of each of the plurality of backoff counters is set based on a common backoff counter used by the wireless communication terminal for multi-channel access; and

performing multi-channel transmission through the plurality of channels based on the backoff procedure using the plurality of backoff counters,

wherein the multi-channel transmission is performed through the plurality of channels when the plurality of backoff counters are ‘0’, and

wherein a size of the contention window is adjusted depending on whether the multi-channel transmission is successful.

8. The wireless communication method of claim 7 ,

wherein the size of the contention window is increased when the multi-channel transmission is failed.

9. The wireless communication method of claim 7 ,

wherein each of the plurality of backoff counters corresponding to the respective channel is selectively decremented when a channel state for the respective channel among the plurality of channels is idle.

10. The wireless communication method of claim 7 ,

wherein the initial value of each of the plurality of backoff counters is set to a same value based on the common backoff counter.

11. The wireless communication method of claim 7 ,

wherein the backoff procedure for the respective channel of the plurality of channels is independently performed based on a corresponding backoff counter among the plurality of backoff counters.

12. The wireless communication method of claim 7 ,

wherein the backoff procedure for at least one of the plurality of channels is deferred.

13. A wireless communication terminal for accessing a plurality of contention-based channels, the terminal comprising:

a processor, and

a memory coupled with the processor,

wherein the processor is configured to receive a signal from a base station according to multi-channel access procedure through a plurality of channels,

wherein the multi-channel access procedure for each of the plurality of channels is performed based on a backoff counter individually corresponding among the plurality of backoff counters,

wherein an initially value of each of the plurality of backoff counters is set based on a common backoff counter used by the wireless communication terminal for multi-channel access within a contention window, and

wherein the signal is received through an at least one channel when an at least one backoff counter for the at least one channel corresponding to the terminal among the plurality of channels is ‘0’, and

wherein a size of the contention window is adjusted depending on whether the multi-channel transmission is successful.
