Abstract

A display device includes a substrate including a first area, a second area, and a bending area. A plurality of first wires are positioned in the first area. A plurality of second wires are positioned in the second area. An insulating layer is positioned in the bending area. A plurality of connecting wires are disposed on the insulating layer. Each of the connecting wires is connected with at least one of the first wires and at least one of the second wires. Each of the connecting wires includes a first portion and a second portion alternatingly arranged along an extending direction of the connecting wires. A width of the first portion is wider than a width of the second portion in a direction perpendicular to the extending direction each of the connecting wires.

Claims (43)

1. A display device comprising:

a substrate including a first area and a bending area adjacent to the first area:

a conductive line disposed on the substrate, the conductive line including a first part disposed in the first area and a second part disposed in the bending area:

a first inorganic insulating laver disposed between the substrate and the first part; and

an organic insulating laver disposed between the substrate and the first and second parts, wherein the second part is flat,

the first part includes a sloped portion with respect to an upper surface of the substrate, the sloped portion overlapping at least an edge of the first Inorganic insulating laver, and

the conductive line includes at least one protrusion protruding alternately at right and left sides along a length of the conductive line in a direction perpendicular to an extending direction of the conductive ling in a plan view, and

wherein a width of the conductive line measured in the direction perpendicular to the extending direction of the conductive line is greater in a portion including the at least one protrusion than in a portion not including the at least one protrusion.

2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein

the second part extends from the first part, and

the first part and the second part are integrally formed in one piece.

3. The display device of claim 1 , further comprising:

pixels disposed in the first area, each of the pixels including a transistor and a light emitting diode connected to the transistor.

4. The display device of claim 1 , further comprising:

a second inorganic insulating layer disposed between the substrate and the first part,

wherein the sloped portion overlaps at least an edge of the second inorganic insulating layer.

5. The display device of claim 4 , wherein the edge of the first inorganic insulating layer and the edge of the second inorganic insulating layer form a continuous slope.

6. The display device of claim 4 , wherein

the first inorganic insulating layer is disposed between the substrate and the organic insulating layer, and

the second inorganic insulating layer is disposed between the substrate and the first inorganic insulating layer.

7. The display device of claim 6 , wherein

the first inorganic insulating layer has a first opening disposed in the bending area,

the second inorganic insulating layer has a second opening disposed in the bending area, and

a first width of the first opening measured in the extending direction of the conductive line is greater than a second width of the second opening measured in the extending direction of the conductive line.

8. The display device of claim 7 , wherein

each of the first width and the second width is greater than a width of the bending area measured in the extending direction of the conductive line.

9. The display device of claim 7 , wherein

the organic insulating layer is disposed at least within the second opening.

10. The display device of claim 1 , wherein

the substrate further includes a second area adjacent to the bending area,

the conductive line further includes a third part disposed in the second area, and

the first inorganic insulating layer is disposed between the substrate and the third part.

11. The display device of claim 10 , wherein

the second part extends from the first part and the third part extends from the second part, and

the first part, the second part, and the third part are integrally formed in one piece.

12. The display device of claim 10 , wherein

the first inorganic insulating layer is not disposed in the bending area.

13. The display device of claim 10 , further comprising:

pads disposed in the second area,

wherein the third part is electrically connected to at least one of the pads.

14. The display device of claim 1 , further comprising:

a conductor disposed between the first inorganic insulating layer and the organic insulating layer in the first area,

wherein the first part is electrically connected to the conductor.
