Abstract

A display device includes a substrate including an opening area and a display area at least partially surrounding the opening area; and a metal layer including a first region and a second region adjacent to a non-display area between the opening area and the display area, the first region and the second region are spaced apart from each other, and one of the first region and the second region includes a protrusion extending toward the other of the first region and the second region, and the other of the first region and the second region has a shape to receive the protrusion.

Claims (36)

1. A display apparatus comprising an opening area, the display apparatus comprising:

a first sensing electrode in a sensing area around the opening area;

a second sensing electrode in the sensing area;

an electrode layer in a non-display area between the opening area and the sensing area,

wherein the first sensing electrode and the second sensing electrode are spaced apart from each other,

wherein the electrode layer comprising at least two sub-electrodes, and the at least two sub-electrodes comprise a first sub-electrode and a second sub-electrode, and

wherein the first sub-electrode is connected to the first sensing electrode and the second sub-electrode is connected to the second sensing electrode.

2. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first sub-electrode faces the second sensing electrode, and the second sub-electrode faces the first sensing electrode.

3. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electrode layer comprises a material having a light-blocking characteristic.

4. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a size of the first sensing electrode and a size of the second sensing electrode are different from each other.

5. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a size of the sub-electrode and a size of the sub-electrode are different from each other.

6. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein an edge of the first sub-electrode facing the second sub-electrode has a shape to receive an edge of the second sub-electrode facing the first sub-electrode.

7. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the electrode layer is located on a same layer as the first sensing electrode and the second sensing electrode.

8. The display apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a connection portion in the sensing and connecting the second sensing electrode and the second sub-electrode.

9. A display apparatus comprising an opening area, the display apparatus comprising:

a pair of first sensing electrodes in a sensing area around the opening area, the pair of first sensing electrodes facing each other with the opening area therebetween in a first direction;

a pair of second sensing electrode in the sensing area, the pair of second sensing electrodes facing each other with the opening area therebetween in a second direction different from the first direction;

an electrode layer in a non-display area between the opening area and the sensing area,

wherein the electrode layer comprising at least two sub-electrodes, and the at least two sub-electrodes comprise a first sub-electrode and a second sub-electrode, and

wherein the first sub-electrode is connected to at least one of the pair of first sensing electrodes and the second sub-electrode is connected to at least one of the pair of second sensing electrodes.

10. The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the first sub-electrode faces one of the pair of second sensing electrodes, and the second sub-electrode faces one of the pair of first sensing electrodes which is connected to the first sub-electrode.

11. The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the first sub-electrode faces the pair of second sensing electrodes, and the second sub-electrode faces one of the pair of first sensing electrodes.

12. The display apparatus of claim 9 , further comprising a connection portion in the sensing and connecting one of the pair of second sensing electrodes and the second sub-electrode.

13. The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the electrode layer comprises a material having a light-blocking characteristic.

14. The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein a size of the first sensing electrodes and a size of the second sensing electrodes are different from each other.

15. The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein a size of the sub-electrode and a size of the sub-electrode are different from each other.

16. The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein an edge of the first sub-electrode facing the second sub-electrode has a shape to receive an edge of the second sub-electrode facing the first sub-electrode.

17. The display apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the electrode layer is located on a same layer as the first sensing electrodes and the second sensing electrodes.

18. The display apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the first connection electrode comprises:

a first portion with a ring shape and disposed along an edge of the opening area;

a second portion protruded from the first electrode and connected to the first sensing electrode; and

a third portion protruded from the first electrode and connected to the third sensing electrode.

19. The display apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the first portion, the second portion and the third portion are one body.

20. The display apparatus of claim 9 , further comprising

a first connection electrode in the non-display area and electrically connected to the pair of first sensing electrodes, and

a second connection electrode in the non-display area and electrically connected to the pair of second sensing electrodes.
