Abstract

A head-mounted display apparatus includes a control unit configured to correct a video, a display element configured to display the video corrected by the control unit, a first optical member on which video light corresponding to the video is incident, and a reflection member configured to reflect the video light from the first optical member to project a virtual image corresponding to the video. The first optical member and the reflection member correct distortion of the virtual image in a first direction. The control unit corrects the video based on distortion of the virtual image in a second direction crossing the first direction.

2. The head-mounted display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the second direction is a direction corresponding to a scanning direction of the display element.

3. The head-mounted display apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the control unit corrects the video to make a length of the video in the second direction on one side in the first direction shorter than a length of the video in the second direction on another side in the first direction.

4. The head-mounted display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the control unit corrects the video to satisfy the following equation:

U=ax+bxy+cy

where c represents a coefficient corresponding to distortion of inclination of the video after the correction on one side in the second direction and inclination of the video after the correction on another side in the second direction.

5. The head-mounted display apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the coefficient a, the coefficient b, and the coefficient c are rewritable parameters.

6. The head-mounted display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the display element displays a first video including a first wavelength, a second video including a second wavelength shorter than the first wavelength, and a third video including a third wavelength longer than the first wavelength,

a length of the first video in the second direction is a length between a length of the second video in the second direction and a length of the third video in the second direction, and

a length of the first video in the first direction is the same as a length of the second video in the first direction and a length of the third video in the first direction.

7. The head-mounted display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein
