Abstract

Inhibitors of erythrocyte band 3 tyrosine phosphorylation of formula (I), and pharmaceutical salts thereof, are described: wherein R 1 -R 3 are defined herein. Compositions comprising compounds of the formula (I), and methods of using the compounds and compositions comprising the compounds to treat sickle cell diseases are also described.

Claims (13)

1 . A compound of formula (I):

wherein:

R 1 is substituted or unsubstituted aryl, or substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl;

R 2 is halogen; and

R 3 is

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

8 . A method of treating sickle cell disease in a subject suffering therefrom, which method comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of claim 1 or a pharmaceutical composition comprising same and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
