Abstract

A method for manufacturing a sintered body, the method including heating a mixture that contains a plurality of particles of a metal oxide having a spinel-type structure, and a metal acetylacetonate under pressure at a temperature of from a melting point or higher of the metal acetylacetonate to 600° C. or lower, to form a sintered body that contains the metal oxide having the spinel-type structure.

Claims (16)

1 . A structure comprising:

a first plurality of particles of a first metal oxide having a spinel structure, the first plurality of particles of the first metal oxide having the spinel structure have an average particle size of 0.02 μm to 1 μm;

a second plurality of particles of a second metal oxide having a spinel structure, the second plurality of particles having a smaller particle size than that of the first plurality of particles, and the second plurality of particles surrounding each of the first plurality of particles; and

an amorphous phase interposed among and surrounding the first plurality of particles and the second plurality of particles such that the amorphous phase fills any space between the first plurality of particles and the second plurality of particles, the amorphous phase composed of only inorganic components and containing metal elements that are the same as at least two metal elements contained in one or both of the first metal oxide and the second metal oxide,

wherein at least one of the first metal oxide and the second metal oxide contains at least one of Ni and Mn, and

wherein the metal elements in the amorphous phase are at least one of Ni and Mn.

2 . The structure according to claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of particles and the first plurality of particles differ from each other in at least one of a composition of the first metal oxide and the second metal oxide or a respective shape thereof.

3 . The structure according to claim 1 , further comprising a third plurality of particles of at least one of a metal material, a resin material, and a carbon material, wherein

the amorphous phase is interposed between the first plurality of particles of the first metal oxide and the third plurality of particles of the at least one of the metal material, the resin material, and the carbon material.

4 . The structure according to claim 3 , wherein the third plurality of particles of the at least one of the metal material, the resin material, and the carbon material have an average particles size of 0.001 μm to 1000 μm.

5 . The structure according to claim 3 , wherein the third plurality of particles of the at least one of the metal material, the resin material, and the carbon material have an average particles size of 0.01 μm to 100 μm.

6 . The structure according to claim 3 , wherein the third plurality of particles of the at least one of the metal material, the resin material, and the carbon material are composed of the metal material, and the metal material is present at a ratio of 50 wt % to 99 wt % relative to a total weight of the first plurality of particles of the first metal oxide having the spinel structure.

7 . The structure according to claim 3 , wherein the third plurality of particles of the at least one of the metal material, the resin material, and the carbon material are composed of the resin material, and the resin material is present at a ratio of 0 . 01 wt % to 99 wt % relative to a total weight of the first plurality of particles of the first metal oxide having the spinel structure.

8 . The structure according to claim 3 , wherein the third plurality of particles of the at least one of the metal material, the resin material, and the carbon material are composed of the carbon material, and the carbon material is present at a ratio of 0.01 wt % to 50 wt % relative to a total weight of the first plurality of particles of the first metal oxide having the spinel structure.

9 . The structure according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first metal oxide and the second metal oxide is ferrite.

10 . The structure according to claim 1 , wherein the first metal oxide and the second metal oxide are represented by a formula AB 2 O 4 , where A and B are each one or more metal elements independently selected from Li, Mg, Al, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn.
