Abstract

A light fixture includes a forward housing, a forward LED light source disposed in the forward housing and configured to project light in a forward direction, a rear housing, a rear LED light source mounted in the rear housing and configured to project light circumferentially, a switch, a power supply, and a light control circuit including dimming means. The power supply and control circuit are configured to connect to a power source, with the switch operative to selectively energize both the forward and rear LED light sources.

Claims (38)

1 . An LED light fixture comprising:

a support base;

a support post having cylindrical support portion and a first end secured to the support base, the support post defining a longitudinal axis;

a first housing secured to the cylindrical support portion proximate a second end of the support post opposite the first end, the first housing having a first LED light source configured to emit light in a first direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis;

a second housing secured to the support post proximate the second end, the second housing having a second LED light source configured to emit light in a second circumferential direction about and substantially transferse to the longitudinal axis;

a transmitting cover secured to an end of the first housing to direct light in the first direction;

a light diffusing lens surrounding the second housing to diffuse light in the second circumferential direction;

an LED light control circuit configured to be connected to a power source, the LED light control circuit having a dimming circuit and a first and second driver circuit, and a switch operative to turn “on” the first LED light source when in a first position, turn the first LED light source “off” when in a second position, and turn “on” both the first and second LED light sources when in a third position.

2 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the switch is a foot control switch.

3 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the dimming circuit controls both of the first and second LED light sources.

4 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a remote wireless communication device being at least one of:

a remote wireless control device,

an app downloaded in a “smart” control device,

a biometric data authentication software downloaded in a recognition device, or

a capacitive touch actuating device, wherein the switch is an electronic transistor switch operated by the remote wireless communication device to selectively operate both first and second upper LED light sources.

5 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the LED light control circuit is disposed in the support base.

6 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 1 , the first housing further including a hub region, wherein the first LED light source is mounted in the hub region.

7 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the light diffusing lens has an opaque support frame around its periphery.

8 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the transmitting cover is a globe lens provided over the first LED light source.

9 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the transmitting cover is a light transmitting globe secured about an outer open end of the first housing.

10 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the globe is removably secured to the first housing.

11 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the switch is a push-button switch having a switch operating member.

12 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the light diffusing lens includes a side wall defining a translucent portion.

13 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 10 , wherein the globe is configured to direct light in the first direction.

14 . The light fixture as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the first direction is substantially a downward direction.

15 . A light fixture comprising:

a cylindrical support;

a first housing having a first LED light source configured to emit light in a first circumferential direction about the cylindrical support and traverse to the first housing;

a second housing having a second LED light source, and an outer periphery globe lens spaced from the second light source, the second light source configured to emit light in a second downward direction substantially parallel to the cylindrical support; and

an LED control circuit configured to be connected to a power source, the LED control circuit having a dimming circuit, and a switch configured to energized at least one of the first or second LED light sources.

16 . A dual LED light fixture comprising:

a first housing defining inner and outer circumferential areas;

a first LED light source mounted in the first housing in the outer circumferential area and configured to generate a first light;

a removable cover plate surrounding the outer circumferential area;

a second LED light source mounted in the inner circumferential area and configured to generate a second light; and

a circuit adapted for connection to a power source; and

a switch,

wherein the circuit is configured to activate the first LED light source when the switch is in a first state, and activate the first and second LED light sources when the switch is in a second state.
