Abstract

Claims (28)

1 . An assembly comprising:

a connector comprising an elastomeric material and configured to couple with a glucose sensor, the connector comprising a first portion, a second portion, and a hinge portion adjoining the first portion and the second portion,

wherein the first portion is configured to be folded over the second portion via the hinge portion,

wherein the first portion comprises a first cross-sectional area,

wherein the second portion comprises a second cross-sectional area that is symmetrical to the first cross-sectional area, and

wherein at least the first portion or the second portion comprises one or more conductive elements, wherein a first side of the one or more conductive elements is configured to conductively couple with the glucose sensor; and

the glucose sensor comprising:

a distal portion, at least a part of which is configured to be positioned under skin and in contact with a bodily fluid of a subject;

a proximal portion configured to be disposed between the first portion and the second portion of the connector when the first portion is folded over the second portion,

wherein the proximal portion comprises a third cross-sectional area that is symmetrical to the first cross-sectional area and the second cross-sectional area.

2 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the connector comprises a silicone material.

3 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein a second side of the one or more conductive elements is configured to conductively couple with a printed circuit board.

4 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the one or more conductive elements comprise three conductive elements.

5 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the one or more conductive elements comprise separately-doped silicone conductive elements disposed in the at least the first portion.

6 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the one or more conductive elements comprise over-molded or insert-molded conductive elements disposed on or in the at least the first portion.

7 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the proximal portion of the glucose sensor comprises one or more electrical contacts.

8 . The assembly of claim 7 , wherein the first portion and the second portion of the connector are configured to form a barrier and protect the one or more electrical contacts of the glucose sensor from moisture or contaminants.

9 . The assembly of claim 7 , wherein each electrical contact of the one or more electrical contacts is configured to conductively couple with a corresponding conductive element of the one or more conductive elements.

10 . The assembly of claim 9 , wherein the glucose sensor further comprises one or more electrically conductive trace lines, and wherein each electrically conductive trace line of the one or more electrically conductive trace lines is connected with a corresponding electrical contact of the one or more electrical contacts.

The assembly of claim 10 , wherein the glucose sensor further comprises one or more electrodes, and wherein the each electrically conductive trace line of the one or more electrically conductive trace lines is configured to connect the corresponding electrical contact of the one or more contacts with a corresponding electrode of the one or more electrodes.

12 . The assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a connector support, wherein the connector support comprises a rigid or semi-rigid housing.

13 . The assembly of claim 12 , wherein the connector further comprises one or more apertures, and wherein the connector support further comprises one or more posts, wherein each post of the one or more posts is configured to engage a corresponding aperture of the one or more apertures.

14 . The assembly of claim 13 , wherein engagement of the one or more apertures by the one or more posts is configured to secure the connector in a sealed position.

15 . The assembly of claim 13 , wherein the one or more apertures are disposed on a side of the connector opposite to the hinge portion.

16 . The assembly of claim 13 , wherein the one or more apertures comprises two apertures, and wherein the one or more posts comprises two posts.

17 . The assembly of claim 12 , wherein the connector support further comprises a sharp slot configured to receive a sharp.

18 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the connector further comprises a raised lip disposed on a top surface edge.

19 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the distal portion of the glucose sensor is orthogonal to the proximal portion of the glucose sensor.
