Abstract

A system for a neurological assessment is provided. The system includes a memory storing instructions for the neurological assessment. The system includes a display, an audio output, a camera, a microphone, and a processor operably coupled thereto. The processor executes the instructions to cause the system to prompt a patient to perform actions, record video and audio of the actions as non-standardized patient specific information via the camera and the microphone, and generate relevant clipped portions from the video and the audio. The relevant clipped portions convert the non-standardized patient specific information into standardized patient specific information. The processor executes the instructions to cause the system to cause a determination of a neurologic status for the patient based on the standardized patient specific information by transmitting the relevant clipped portions to a second system for analysis and receiving an analysis result including the neurologic status from the second system.

Claims (43)

1 . A system for a neurological assessment comprising:

a memory comprising processor executable instructions for the neurological assessment; and

a processor operably coupled to the memory, the processor configured to execute the processor executable instructions to cause the system to:

prompt a patient to perform one or more actions via one or more prompts;

record video and audio of the one or more actions as non-standardized patient specific information from the patient;

generating targeted standardized patient specific information by:

automatically generating one or more relevant clipped portions, for each prompt of the one or more prompts given to the patient, from the video and the audio using one or more machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithms, and

scoring the one or more relevant clipped portions to produce the targeted standardized patient specific information; and

cause a determination of the neurological assessment for the patient based on the targeted standardized patient specific information.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithms are configured to clip from recordings of the video and the audio to only the one or more relevant clipped portions.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more relevant clipped portions comprise a clipped portion of audio and video totaling two (2) to twelve (12) seconds.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information comprises one or more audio responses by the patient to one or more questions of the one or more prompts.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information of audio or video comprises recordings of an ability of eyes of the patient to follow an object in response to the one or more prompts.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information of audio or video comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to move facial muscles in response to the one or more prompts.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information of audio or video comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to hold arms in one or more upright positions in response to the one or more prompts.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information of audio or video comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to hold each leg in one or more upright positions in response to the one or more prompts.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to pass a finger-nose-finger test or a heel-shin test in response to the one or more prompts.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to sense a pinprick or a noxious stimuli in response to the one or more prompts.

11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to demonstrate whether a stroke affected language abilities of the patient in response to the one or more prompts.

12 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to demonstrate whether there is slurring in a speech of the patient in response to the one or more prompts.

13 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more targeted standardized patient specific information comprises recordings of an ability of the patient to pay attention and detect objects on one side of a body of the patient in response to the one or more prompts.

14 . A system for a neurological assessment comprising:

a memory comprising processor executable instructions for the neurological assessment; and

a processor operably coupled to the memory, the processor configured to execute the processor executable instructions to cause the system to:

prompt a patient to perform at least one of a plurality of actions via one or more prompts;

record video and audio of the at least one of the plurality of actions as non-standardized patient specific information from the patient;

generating targeted standardized patient specific information by:

generating one or more relevant clipped portions, for each prompt of the one or more prompts given to the patient, from the video and the audio, and

automatically scoring the one or more relevant clipped portions using one or more machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithms to produce the targeted standardized patient specific information; and

cause a determination of the neurological assessment for the patient based on the targeted standardized patient specific information.

15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithms are configured to process the one or more relevant clipped portions to produce one or more neurological assessment scores.

16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithms are configured to process the one or more relevant clipped portions to produce one or more sub-scores representing a neurological diagnosis of the patient or a degree of abnormality.

17 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the targeted standardized patient specific information comprises a neurological assessment score determined by the one or more machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithms from one or more sub-scores associated with the one or more relevant clipped portions.

18 . A system for a neurological assessment of a patient comprising:

a memory comprising processor executable instructions for the neurological assessment and one or more machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms; and

a processor operably coupled to the memory, the processor configured to execute the processor executable instructions to cause the system to:

generate the neurological assessment of the patient using the one or more machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms by deriving and processing targeted standardized patient specific information from one or more relevant clipped portions of video and audio comprising non-standardized patient specific information; and

generate, using one or more machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, a diagnosis, a recommendation, or an intervention correlating the neurological assessment with the standardized patient specific information and existing patient specific medical data.

19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the diagnosis comprises a list of possible diagnosis for the neurological assessment.

20 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the recommendation comprises one or more of take no action, order a physiological test, order an imaging test, and order suspected condition test, and

wherein the intervention comprises an administration of a medication, a procedure, or a surgery.

21 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the existing patient specific medical data comprises lab results, image results, and vital signs associated with the patient.

22 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the recommendation comprises one or more of additional tests, exams, or procedures to determine the diagnosis.
