Abstract

The present invention relates to a sensor applicator assembly for a continuous glucose monitoring system and provides a sensor applicator assembly for a continuous glucose monitoring system, which is manufactured with a sensor module assembled inside an applicator, thereby minimizing additional work by a user for attaching the sensor module to the body and allowing the sensor module to be attached to the body simply by operating the applicator, and thus can be used more conveniently. A battery is built in the sensor module and a separate transmitter is connected to the sensor module so as to receive power supply from the sensor module and be continuously used semi-permanently, thereby making the assembly economical. The sensor module and the applicator are used as disposables, thereby allowing accurate and safe use and convenient maintenance.

a needle withdrawing body engaged with the plunger body to move from the first position to the second position along with the plunger body, with a bottom end portion of the needle withdrawing body being coupled with a top end portion of the needle; and

a needle withdrawing elastic spring applying elastic force to the needle withdrawing body in a direction in which the needle withdrawing body moves toward the first position,

wherein, when the movement to the second position is completed, the needle withdrawing body is disengaged from the plunger body and is moved by the elastic force of the needle withdrawing elastic spring,

wherein a buffer member is coupled to the inner surface of the main container to reduce impact caused by an elastic movement of the needle withdrawing body.

2 . The sensor applicator assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the main container includes an external container, on which the press button is mounted, and an internal container coupled to an interior of the external container to guide the plunger body along a path.

3 . The sensor applicator assembly according to claim 2 , wherein the needle withdrawing body includes an elastic hook elastically offset to engage with the plunger body, and

the internal container includes a needle withdrawing pressing portion, wherein the needle withdrawing pressing portion presses the elastic hook so that the elastic hook is disengaged from the plunger body as the movement of the needle withdrawing body to the second position is completed.

4 . The sensor applicator assembly according to claim 1 , wherein a needle head coupling portion is provided on the bottom end portion of the needle withdrawing body, and

a needle support is provided on the needle withdrawing body to support the needle so that the needle does not move with respect to the needle withdrawing body.

5 . A sensor applicator assembly for a continuous glucose monitoring system, the sensor applicator assembly being assembled as a single unitary product in which a sensor module is preinstalled in an applicator, such that the sensor module is ejected by an operation of the applicator to be attached to a human body,

wherein the sensor module includes:

a pod moving ejectable by the applicator so as to be attached to the human body;

a sensor disposed within the pod, with one end portion of the sensor protruding downward from the pod, wherein the sensor is configured to be inserted into the human body in response to the pod being ejected; and

a needle detachably coupled to the pod, wherein the needle is inserted into the human body together with the sensor in response to the pod being ejected,

wherein the applicator is operable to withdraw and remove the needle from the human body when the ejection of the pod is completed,

wherein an adhesive tape is attached to a bottom end surface of the pod and is configured to attach the bottom end surface of the pod to the human body,

wherein the adhesive tape is moved together with the pod in response to the pod being ejected,

wherein the applicator includes:

a main container having a press button mounted on a portion of the main container;

a plunger body fixedly coupled to a first position within the main container to be decoupled from the first position and move to a second position in response to the press button being manipulated, wherein the sensor module is coupled to one end of the plunger body such that the plunger body moves from the first position to the second position together with the sensor module;

an elastic plunger spring applying elastic force to the plunger body so that the plunger body moves from the first position to the second position; and

a needle withdrawing means for withdrawing and removing the needle from the human body by moving the needle when the movement of the plunger body from the first position to the second position is completed,
