Abstract

A wireless communication system and, more particularly, to a method for performing efficient signaling for a reserved sub-band in a wireless LAN system, and a method and an apparatus for signal transmission using the same. To this end, an STA provides resource allocation information for transmitting data to a plurality of STAs using an orthogonal frequency divisional multiple access (OFDMA) or multiple user MIMO (MU-MIMO) method; transmits the resource allocation information to the plurality of STAs; and transmits data to the plurality of STAs according to the resource allocation information. The entire frequency band may include a sub-band which is not used for the data transmission, and it is preferable that the resource allocation information includes a resource allocation bitmap having a form common to the plurality of STAs and indication information which informs a sub-band, from among the entire frequency band, which is not used for the data transmission.

Claims (50)

1 . A method for a non-access point station (non-AP STA) to communicate with an access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (WLAN), the method comprising:

receiving a physical protocol data unit (PPDU) from the AP, wherein the PPDU comprises a first signaling (SIG) field, a second SIG field, and a data field,

wherein the first SIG field includes bandwidth information, guard interval information and basic service set (BSS) color,

wherein the second SIG field includes signaling information,

wherein the signaling information includes:

common bits for a plurality of non-AP STAs, the common bits related to sizes of each of a plurality of resource units and placements of the plurality of resource units in a frequency domain, and

identifications (IDs) of the plurality of non-AP STAs to be set for the plurality of resource units.

2 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the plurality of resource units includes one or more normal resource units, and one or more multi-user resource units,

wherein the IDs of the non-AP STAs include multiple ID fields, the multiple ID fields including:

one or more first ID fields related to corresponding identification information of one or more non-AP STAs of the plurality of non-AP STAs respectively allocated to the one or more normal resource units, and

one or more second ID fields related to corresponding identification information of one or more non-AP STAs of the plurality of non-AP STAs allocated to the one or more multi-user resource units.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of resource units further includes a null subband which is not used to receive the data field.

4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the multiple ID fields further include one or more third ID fields related to the null subband by using a specific ID field value.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the specific ID field value is a value other than values representing identifiers of the plurality of non-AP STAs.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of non-AP STAs is allocated, based on a sequence of the IDs of the plurality of non-AP STAs, to a corresponding one of the plurality of resource units.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bit sequence is further related to one or more of the plurality of resource units not allocated to a user.

8 . A method for an access point (AP) to communicate with a plurality of non-AP stations (non-AP STAs) in a wireless local area network (WLAN), the method comprising:

transmitting a physical protocol data unit (PPDU) to the plurality of non-AP STAs, wherein the PPDU comprises a first signaling (SIG) field, a second SIG field, and a data field,

wherein the first SIG field includes bandwidth information, guard interval information and basic service set (BSS) color,

wherein the second SIG field includes resource information,

wherein the resource information includes:

common bits for a plurality of non-AP STAs, the common bits related to sizes of each of a plurality of resource units and placements of the plurality of resource units in a frequency domain, and

identifications (IDs) of a non-AP STA to be allocated to the plurality of resource units.

one or more first ID fields related to corresponding identification information of one or more non-AP STAs respectively allocated to the one or more normal resource units, and

one or more second ID fields related to corresponding identification information of one or more non-AP STAs allocated to the one or more multi-user resource units.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of resource units further includes a null subband which is not used to transmit the data field.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the multiple ID fields further include one or more third ID fields related to the null subband by using a specific ID field value.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the specific ID field value is a value other than values representing identifiers of the plurality of non-AP STAs.

13 . The method of claim 8 , wherein each of the plurality of non-AP STAs is allocated, based on a sequence of the IDs of the plurality of non-AP STAs, to a corresponding one of the plurality of resource units.

14 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the bit sequence is further related to one or more of the plurality of resource units not allocated to a user.

15 . A non-access point station (non-AP STA) adapted to communicate with an access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (WLAN), the non-AP STA comprising:

transceiver configured to receive a physical protocol data unit (PPDU) from the AP, wherein the PPDU comprises a first signaling (SIG) field, a second SIG field, and a data field,
