Abstract

Systems and methods for group monitoring and management of network function statuses are provided. In one example, a method includes: generating a group query for statuses of a plurality of network functions of a network, in response to the group query performing group monitoring of the plurality of network functions to check the real-time status of each one of the plurality of network functions, receiving data corresponding to real-time status of each network function, comparing the data corresponding to real-time status with data corresponding to reference status for each one of the plurality of network functions, identifying presence or absence of an anomaly of each one of the plurality of network functions, based on the comparison, and generating a network function status output including data corresponding to the real-time status and an indication of the presence or absence of an anomaly for each network function.

Claims (53)

1 . A method performed by a network status monitoring and management system associated with a 5G network, the method comprising:

receiving a query for checking a real-time status of each one of a plurality of network functions of the 5G network deployed on a cloud computing platform, wherein each network function corresponds to a vendor that provides the network function, the plurality of network functions comprising all network functions executed across a plurality of cloud computing regions of the cloud computing platform;

in response to the query, obtaining a real-time status of each network function, the real-time status including a registration status indicating whether the network function is registered or unregistered;

comparing the real-time status against a reference status for each network function,

determining presence or absence of an anomaly for each network function based at least in part on the comparison, wherein the presence of the anomaly is determined when the registration status indicates that the network function is unregistered and the reference status indicates that the network function should be registered; and

generating an output that includes the real-time status and an indication of the presence or absence of an anomaly for each network function.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein,

the 5G core network comprises a national data center, a plurality of regional data centers, and a plurality of breakout edge data centers;

the cloud computing platform comprises a plurality of cloud computing regions, each cloud computing region further comprises a plurality of cloud computing sub-regions, and each cloud computing sub-region further comprises a plurality of local zones;

the national data center is established across the plurality of cloud computing regions;

the plurality of regional data centers are respectively established on the plurality of cloud computing regions; and

the plurality of breakout edge data centers are respectively established on the plurality of local zones.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

identifying one or more cloud computing regions of the plurality of cloud computing regions,

wherein the plurality of network functions are network functions executed on the regional data center corresponding to each one of the identified one or more cloud computing regions.

4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising:

identifying one or more cloud computing sub-regions of each one of the identified one or more cloud computing regions, wherein the plurality of network functions are network functions executed on the regional data center in the identified one or more cloud computing sub-regions.

5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising:

identifying one or more local zones of each one of the identified one or more cloud computing sub-regions, wherein the plurality of network functions are network functions executed on the breakout edge data center in the identified one or more local zones.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

establishing a database, the database comprising data corresponding to the reference status of each network function.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the output further includes the reference status of each network function.

8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the real-time status of each network function further includes an operational state of the network function and a health state of the network function.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the real-time status of the network function further includes a region identifier of the cloud computing region in which the network function is executed, a sub-region identifier of the cloud computing sub-region in which the network function is executed, and a local zone identifier of the local zone in which the network function is executed.

10 . A network status monitoring and management system comprising:

one or more processors; and

a computer-readable storage media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to:

receive a query for checking a real-time status of each one of a plurality of network functions of the 5G network deployed on a cloud computing platform, wherein each network function corresponds to a network function vendor that provides the network function, the plurality of network functions comprising all network functions executed across a plurality of cloud computing regions of the cloud computing platform;

obtain a real-time status of each network function, the real-time status including a registration status indicating whether the network function is registered or unregistered;

compare the real-time status against a pre-determined reference status for each network function,

determine presence or absence of an anomaly for each network function based at least in part on the comparison, wherein the presence of the anomaly is determined when the registration status indicates that the network function is unregistered and the reference status indicates that the network function should be registered; and

generate an output that includes the real-time status and an indication of the presence or absence of an anomaly for each network function.

11 . The network status monitoring and management system of claim 10 , wherein,

the network is a 5G core network deployed on a cloud computing platform;

the 5G core network comprises a national data center, a plurality of regional data centers, and a plurality of breakout edge data centers;

the cloud computing platform comprises a plurality of cloud computing regions, each cloud computing region further comprises a plurality of cloud computing sub-regions, and each cloud computing sub-region further comprises a plurality of local zones;

the national data center is established across the plurality of cloud computing regions;

the plurality of regional data centers are respectively established on the plurality of cloud computing regions; and

the plurality of breakout edge data centers are respectively established on the plurality of local zones.

12 . The network status monitoring and management system of claim 11 , wherein the instructions when executed by the one or more processors further cause the system to:

identify one or more cloud computing regions of the plurality of cloud computing regions,

wherein the plurality of network functions are network functions executed on the regional data center corresponding to each one of the identified one or more cloud computing regions.

13 . The network status monitoring and management system of claim 12 , wherein the instructions when executed by the one or more processors further cause the system to:
