Abstract

An atomizing element for an electronic cigarette is provide, which includes: a porous body comprising an atomizing surface and a liquid absorbing surface; and a porous heating film formed on the atomizing surface. An electronic cigarette and an atomizing assembly including the same are also provided.

Claims (31)

1 . An atomizing assembly for an electronic cigarette, the atomizing assembly comprising:

a housing defining an airflow channel therein and comprising a reservoir at least partially surrounding the airflow channel for storing liquid;

an atomizing core comprising a supporting portion, a liquid stopper, and an atomizing element located between the supporting portion and the liquid stopper; the atomizing element comprising a porous body and at least one heater connected to the porous body, wherein the porous body comprises an atomizing surface and a liquid absorbing surface, and an atomizing chamber is formed between the atomizing surface and the liquid stopper; and

wherein the supporting portion defines a liquid inlet extending through a top surface of the supporting portion and an air outlet in fluid communication with the atomizing chamber, the liquid stopper is at least partially located beneath the porous body, and the liquid stopper defines a plurality of through holes and at least one aperture configured to insert an electrode.

2 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the porous body is at least partially located in the supporting portion.

3 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises a first tubular structure and a second tubular structure, the airflow channel is formed inside the second tubular structure, and the reservoir is formed between the first tubular structure and the second tubular structure.

4 . The atomizing assembly of claim 3 wherein the first tubular structure has a greater diameter than a diameter of the second tubular structure, and the second tubular structure is located inside the first tubular structure.

5 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the heater is provided on the atomizing surface of the porous body, and the atomizing surface and the liquid absorbing surface are opposite surfaces of the porous body.

6 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the porous body has a tubular shape, the liquid absorbing surface is an outer surface of the porous body, and the atomizing surface is an inner surface of the porous body.

7 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the porous body has a columnar shape, the liquid absorbing surface is a part of a sidewall of the porous body close to both ends thereof; the atomizing surface is the rest of the sidewall of the porous body in a middle thereof.

8 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein a plurality of atomizing surfaces and a plurality of liquid absorbing surfaces are provided.

9 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the atomizing surface is arranged orthogonally or at an angle to a flowing direction of the liquid in the atomizing assembly.

10 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the atomizing surface is arranged parallel to a flowing direction of the liquid in the atomizing assembly.

11 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the liquid stopper is made of plastic or silicon.

12 . The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the atomization assembly further comprises a first sealing element configured to seal a gap between the porous body and an inner sidewall of the supporting portion, thereby isolating the heater from the liquid inlet.

13 . The atomizing element of claim 1 , wherein the porous body is provided with a plurality of micropores having a diameter of about 1 μm to about 100 μm.

14 . The atomizing element of claim 1 , wherein the porous body has a porosity of about 30% to about 83%.

The atomizing assembly of claim 1 , wherein the porous body comprises a first porous body, and a second porous body connected to the first porous body, the liquid absorbing surface is located on the first porous body, the atomizing surface is located on the second porous body; wherein at least one of materials, diameter of micropores, and porosities of the first porous body and the second porous body are different.

16 . An atomizer of an electronic cigarette, the atomizer comprising:

a housing defining an airflow channel and a reservoir at least partially surrounding the airflow channel for storing liquid; and

an atomization assembly comprising a first holder, a second holder, and a heating assembly located between the first holder and the second holder; the heating assembly comprising a porous body and at least one heater engaged with the porous body, wherein the porous body comprises an atomizing surface and a liquid absorbing surface, and an atomizing chamber is formed between the atomizing surface and the second holder;

wherein the first holder comprises at least one liquid inlet and an air outlet extending through a top surface of the first holder, the air outlet is in fluid communication with the atomizing chamber;

wherein the second holder is at least partially located beneath the porous body, and the second holder comprises a plurality of air inlets and at least one aperture configured to insert an electrode.

17 . The atomizing assembly of claim 16 , wherein the porous body is at least partially located in the first holder.

18 . The atomizing assembly of claim 16 , wherein the heater is disposed on a planar attachment surface of the porous body, and the liquid absorbing surface and the atomizing surface are respectively located on two opposite sides of the porous body.

19 . The atomizing assembly of claim 16 , wherein the liquid absorbing surface is a part of a sidewall of the porous body close to both ends thereof, and the atomizing surface is the rest of the sidewall of the porous body in a middle thereof.

20 . An electronic cigarette, comprising:

a power supply assembly; and

an atomizing assembly comprising a first holder, a second holder, and a heating assembly located between the first holder and the second holder; the heating assembly comprising a porous body and at least one heater engaged with the porous body, wherein the porous body has an atomizing surface and a liquid absorbing surface, and an atomizing chamber is formed between the atomizing surface and the second holder;
