Abstract

A method for displaying a virtual sub-tablet from a primary virtual tablet in an extended reality environment includes the primary virtual tablet showing a user in the virtual environment an activity or subject matter, such as an educational class subject. A virtual sub-tablet is displayed in the extended reality environment that includes complementary controls, such as tools or functions, that the user can use to interact with the activity or subject matter on the primary virtual tablet.

Claims (31)

1 . A method for generating a virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

displaying a virtual primary tablet with a virtual primary screen showing a primary activity or primary subject matter in the extended reality environment to the user, wherein the primary activity or primary subject matter is associated with an educational class;

receiving a first interaction from the user that triggers display of a first virtual sub-tablet next to the primary tablet in the extended reality environment, wherein the first virtual sub-tablet includes a first virtual sub-tablet screen showing one or more first interactive controls operable to provide functions for the primary activity or primary subject matter shown on the virtual primary screen; and

receiving a second interaction from the user that triggers display of a second virtual sub-tablet next to the first virtual sub-tablet in the extended reality environment, wherein the second virtual sub-tablet includes a second virtual sub-tablet screen showing one or more second interactive controls operable to provide complementary functions for the first interactive controls shown on the first sub-table screen.

2 . A method for generating a virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

displaying a virtual primary tablet with a virtual primary screen showing a primary activity or primary subject matter in the extended reality environment to the user;

receiving a first interaction from the user that triggers display of a first virtual sub-tablet next to the primary tablet in the extended reality environment, wherein the first virtual sub-tablet includes a first virtual sub-tablet screen showing one or more first interactive controls operable to provide functions for the primary activity or primary subject matter shown on the virtual primary screen; and

receiving a second interaction from the user that triggers display of a second virtual sub-tablet next to the first virtual sub-tablet in the extended reality environment, wherein the second virtual sub-tablet includes a second virtual sub-tablet screen showing one or more second interactive controls operable to provide complementary functions for the first interactive controls shown on the first sub-table screen.

3 . A method for generating virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

displaying a virtual primary tablet with a virtual primary screen showing a primary activity or primary subject matter in the extended reality environment to the user;

receiving a first interaction from the user that triggers display of a first virtual sub-tablet next to the primary tablet in the extended reality environment, wherein the first virtual sub-tablet includes a first virtual sub-tablet screen showing one or more first interactive controls operable to provide functions for the primary activity or primary subject matter shown on the virtual primary screen;

displaying the first virtual sub-tablet as sliding out from the primary tablet when triggered for display; and

receiving a second interaction from the user that triggers display of a second virtual sub-tablet next to the first virtual sub-tablet in the extended reality environment, wherein the second virtual sub-tablet includes a second virtual sub-tablet screen showing one or more second interactive controls operable to provide complementary functions for the first interactive controls shown on the first sub-table screen.

4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising displaying the second virtual sub-tablet as sliding out from the first virtual sub-tablet when triggered for display.

5 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising displaying the second virtual sub-tablet as sliding out from the primary virtual tablet when triggered for display.

6 . A method for generating virtual tablet in an extended reality environment comprising:

displaying on a display of an extended reality device of a user an extended reality environment;

displaying a virtual primary tablet with a virtual primary screen showing a primary activity or primary subject matter in the extended reality environment to the user;

receiving a first interaction from the user that triggers display of a first virtual sub-tablet next to the primary tablet in the extended reality environment, wherein the first virtual sub-tablet includes a first virtual sub-tablet screen showing one or more first interactive controls operable to provide functions; and

receiving multiple interactions from the user that triggers displaying multiple virtual sub-tablets, wherein each virtual sub-tablet of the multiple virtual sub-tablets shows interactive controls operable to provide functions for the primary activity or primary subject matter shown on the virtual primary screen.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the multiple virtual sub-tablets are displayed for selection by the user in a rotatable wheel configuration.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the multiple virtual sub-tablets are displayed for selection by the user with each sub-tablet having a different color.

9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the multiple virtual sub-tablets are displayed for selection by the user with each sub-tablet having a different size.

10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the multiple virtual sub-tablets are displayed for selection by the user stacked upon one another.

11 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the multiple virtual sub-tablets are displayed consecutively as extending out from one another and from the primary virtual tablet.

12 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the multiple virtual sub-tablets are displayed as extending out from the primary virtual tablet.

13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the primary activity or primary subject matter is associated with an educational class.

14 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the primary activity or primary subject matter is associated with an educational class.
