Abstract

Systems and methods for enabling route determination to maximize an operator's intent are described. In an example, a method includes receiving an input via a user interface, the input comprising a destination. The method also includes determining a primary goal and a secondary goal, wherein the primary goal comprises identifying a traversable route from a starting location to the destination, determining a plurality of waypoints based on the secondary goal, and determining a plurality of candidate routes based on the starting location and the destination. The method then includes identifying, from among the plurality of candidate routes, based on a number of waypoints of the plurality of waypoints positioned along each respective route of the plurality of candidate routes, a target route, and generating for navigation by a vehicle, the target route.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising: determining the plurality of waypoints based on the natural language qualifier and the user profile comprising one or more of a digital photo album, a transaction history, or a digital wallet.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the input via the user interface further comprises a natural language constraint, the method further comprising:

identifying the target route from among the plurality of candidate routes based on the number of waypoints and based on the natural language constraint.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the natural language constraint comprises a minimum vehicle autonomy level, and wherein identifying the target route from among the plurality of candidate routes comprises:

determining that each segment of the target route has a corresponding vehicle autonomy level greater than or equal to the minimum vehicle autonomy level.

wherein generating for navigation by the vehicle, the target route comprises:

generating, for display via the user interface, the first target route and the second target route; and

generating, for display via the user interface, an indication that the second target route has a longer expected duration than the first target route and passes by a greater number of waypoints than the first target route.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining that the vehicle is positioned proximate a first external advertisement surface along the target route; and

generating for display inside the vehicle a supplemental advertisement corresponding to the first external advertisement surface.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining that the vehicle is positioned proximate a first external advertisement surface along the target route; and instructing the first external advertisement surface to generate for display first content, wherein the first content is determined based on a user profile associated with the input.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the vehicle comprises a first vehicle of a plurality of vehicles, the method further comprising: determining, for each vehicle of the plurality of vehicles, a respective target route, wherein each respective target route is determined based on: the location of the plurality of external advertisement surfaces; targeting requirements corresponding to each of the plurality of external advertisement surfaces; an expected time of arrival at one or more of the plurality of external advertisement surfaces along the respective target route; and a user profile associated with the vehicle of the plurality of vehicles.

10 . A system comprising:
