Abstract

A system for maintaining accurate health data and for providing rewards to data market participants. A marketplace platform based on Blockchain technology leverages smart contracts to provide rewards to sellers of data assets that provide corrections or updates to medical data, such as provider demographics. A URL API is provided to a buyer of the data with an encrypted password that is used to access the data from the URL API.

update the smart contracts with certain information from the validating users; and

on an update-by-update basis:

receive indication of one of: validation and non-validation for the updates; and

in accordance with the terms of the smart contracts, return the reward to the updating users where the updates to the data set are indicated as successfully validated by the validating users, and provide the reward to the validating users where the updates to the data set are indicated as not successfully validated by the validating users;

provide al least certain communications on the network between the user devices, at least in part by:

storing public keys for the updating users;

storing blocks comprising encrypted values at the distributed ledger encrypted using the public keys of the updating users;

decrypting the encrypted values using the private keys of the updating users:

using the decrypted values of to access data resources; and

receiving the updates to the data sets stored by way of the data resources.

2 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the dispensation of the rewards is tracked on the distributed ledger.

3 . The system of claim 2 wherein:

the rewards comprise fees for validating the updates to the data sets;

the smart contract comprises terms for escrowing and dispositioning the validation fees; and

the validation fees are escrowed prior to dispensation.

4 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the decrypted values comprise pointers to the data resources; and

the data resources are located off the blockchain platform.

5 . The system of claim 4 wherein:

the pointers comprise URLs.

6 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the one or more servers comprise software instructions, which when executed, configure the one or more processors to encrypt the at least certain communications at least by:

storing public keys for the validating users;

encrypting the updates with the public keys of the validating users; and

decrypting the updated with the private keys of the validating users to access the updates.

7 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the requests are issued as open, standing requests.

8 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

for each of the updates, on an update-by-update basis, each of the updating user, the validating user, and the offering user are different users associated with different user devices.

9 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the one or more servers comprise software instructions, which when executed, configure the one or more processors to: on an update-by-update basis, increase credibility scores associated with the updating users where the updates to the data set are successfully validated by the validating users, and decrease the credibility score associated with the updating users where the updates to the data set are not successfully validated by the validating users.

10 . The system of claim 9 wherein:

the one or more servers comprise software instructions, which when executed, configure the one or more processors to: prevent acceptance of updates from any of the updating users associated with a credibility score below a predetermined threshold.

11 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the one or more servers comprise software instructions, which when executed, configure the one or more processors to: prevent acceptance of updates older than a predetermined amount.

12 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

at least some of the user devices are associated with mining users; and

the one or more servers comprise software instructions, which when executed, configure the one or more processors to:

receive indication of mining fee payments from the offering users; and

on a block-by-block basis for updates to the distributed ledger, distribute a respective one of the mining fee payments to an associated one of the mining users.

13 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the data sets comprise medical history information for patients.

14 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the data sets comprise address and phone numbers for healthcare provider practices.

15 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the offering user(s) comprise one or more insurance providers; and

the updating user(s) comprise one or more healthcare providers or associated entities.

16 . The system of claim 1 wherein:

the one or more servers comprise software instructions, which when executed, configure the one or more processors to: provide, by way of the platform, the data sets and trusted data for comparison against the data sets for accuracy by the updating users and the validating users.

17 . A system for maintaining accuracy of sets, said system comprising:

one or more non-transitory electronic storage devices comprising software instructions, which when executed, configure one or more processors to:

generate a decentralized, distributed data marketplace using a distributed ledger stored on a blockchain network for access by user devices, where each of said user devices is associated with a respective user;

provide, at the decentralized, distributed data marketplace, data sets and trusted data for comparison against the data sets for accuracy;
